Karkat let a soft smile spread across his face. "Thanks. So you going back to your radio thing? or are you just going back to your dorm?" He asked, pulling out his phone to look at the time. It was almost one.

"Dorm. I can't really do anything until I get Bro to wire me some money to replace old shit, or have him send me stuff he doesn't use." He explained.

Karkat nodded in understanding before trying to stifle a yawn, unsuccessfully. He blinked sleepily with a little grumble. "Do me a favor and don't let me fall asleep on the bus"

"Fucking finally" Karkat mumbled as he spotted the bus. "Where's your dorm anyway?"

"Not too far from the entrance. Its the second building on the left." He said, walking on board with him when the doors finally opened.

"Lucky bastard" Karkat snorted as the bus pulled up in front of him. "The troll dorms are towards the back of campus. I have to walk like half an hour to get to the commons."

"Nah. I'll be fine, being a troll and all." Karkat replied, stepping up on the bus and taking an empty seat.

"Sure you wont fall asleep on the way there?" He said, taking a seat beside him so he could nudge him if he fell asleep.

"Not walking across campus" Karkat replied. "The walk'll keep me awake long enough to get to my couch. And I'm already in my hoodie, so I don't have to put it on before I lay down." He yawned again, slouching in the seat to very much resemble a fluffed up bird.

Karkat yawned again, but otherwise sat in silence. His eyelids continued to droop until they finally shut completely, a turn causing his head to tilt over onto Dave's shoulder.

Dave looked down at him and raised a brow. He noticed how calm he seemed, content with being all curled up in his hoodie. And as much as he wanted to keep him asleep like that, he was asked not to let him fall asleep. It was for that reason that he nudged the troll.

Karkat's face twitched and he let out a little grunt, but didn't stir. He only nuzzled his face farther into the point that was Dave's shoulder.

It was plainly obvious that Karkat wasn't going to just wake up from any nudgings. He finally decided just to leave him bee and sleep, allowing him to use his shoulder as a temporary pillow.

Karkat let out a soft purr, scooting a little closer to Dave in his slumber.

The purr was new to him and had him interested. It sort of gave him a sense of Karkat looking and sounding vulnerable, which is most likely wh he told Dave to prevent him from falling asleep. Unable to have the heart to wake him and also also wanting to look at his sleeping form.

When the bus turned again, Karkat shifted and a bandaged hand came up to clutch lightly at Dave's sleeve. The purring never wavered, but it did deepen a little.

His eyes then wavered from Karkat's sleeping face to his bandaged hand. He wondered how well it was healing, and how much it had already healed. He felt bad because not only did he manage to hurt him, but he also offhandedly caused the troll sleep deprivation by preventing him from properly sleeping in his recuperacoon. He sighed lightly, shaking his head. Nice job, idiot.

When the bus pulled up to the school, Karkat was still sleeping soundly. He was still holding on to Dave too, his free hand in his hoodie pocket.

Dave nudged him now, a little harder. "Karkat. It's time to get off, wake up."

Karkat jerked awake at the sound of Dave's voice, hastily letting go of him. "Fuck, I thought I said not to let me fall asleep" he grumbled softly, standing and wavering on his feet.

"I tried. You were out like a light." He said, standing up and stretching, having been sitting in that position just so he wouldn't disturb Karkat.

Karkat moved past him, stumbling down the bus stairs and out onto the sidewalk. He caught himself before he fell, but he just stood there yawning after he did, still swaying on his feet.
