Dave smiled lazily, nuzzling Bro some more before drifting off under the covers.

Bro continued to lay next to him for a while, just petting him soothingly. Finally, he carefully got up and retrieved his phone from the hamper.

Bro looked at it a long minute before going into the bathroom and calling him.

Tavros sounded eager on the other end of the phone. "Bro! Hi, I was about to call you."

"Sorry babe, didn't mean to make you worry, but I couldn't exactly hang onto my phone in the precinct." Bro stated. "Regulations and all that jazz. I got the sonogram though. Can't believe it. They all look so amazing, I'm sorry I can't be there with you"

Tavros's voice rose in alarm. "Precinct? You mean you were in jail? What happened? Are you okay?"

Bro hushed Tavros gently. "Babe, babe, calm down, its no big deal. Some guy was bein' a jack ass and we got into a fight. We both got arrested. No body's hurt." he assured him gently.

"It kind of seems like a big deal if it got both of you arrested," Tavros muttered. "Is anyone pressing charges?"

"Dave didn't get arrested, and we're pressing charges. The guy laid his hands on us. And I kicked his fucking ass." Bro explained

Tavros gasped. "That's terrible! I mean, I'm sure you hurt him because you had to, but, wow." He let out a relieved sigh. "I'm glad you're alright. I don't know what I'd do if I lost you."

"Its alright, you won't be getting rid of me that easy." Bro replied, a smile in his voice. "So that sonogram."

"Yeah, I wish you could have been there... I'm worried, though," Tavros admitted softly. "If they are more troll than human, and if wigglers are anywhere as small as I remember, I... I might have to have them here."

"What makes you say that?" Bro asked gently.

[raunchyJanitor]

"None of us has any idea just how long my gestation period will be. I could start having contractions as early as tonight or several months from now. If those ovals we saw on the sonogram are eggshells, we m-might not have much time at all." Tavros's tone grew more and more nervous near the end. "I don't want to go through this without you."

"Hey, calm down." Bro murmured gently. "We only have to stay here a week or two, till the proceedings, then we can leave. I promise that I will come to you as soon as I can. Until then, I will call you everyday"

"I'll have Rose call you if anything happens, okay?" Tavros promised.

"Okay. anything else you want to talk about?" Bro asked. "Dave's asleep in the other room so I can talk for a while"

"Karkat's fever hasn't gone down by much, but all of us are keeping an eye on him," Tavros replied. "I've been feeding him, bathing him, changing his bandages... I hate seeing him so miserable."

"Sounds like someone's getting their pale on" Bro smiled. "So what exactly got him sick? Does anyone know? I don't think it was ever explained to me"

"Well, the surgery is pretty relentless on your immune system. Even Equius got sick after his surgery," Tavros explained.

"I see. Is it just hitting the runt a little harder because he's so little and already has so much wrong with him?" Bro asked

[raunchyJanitor]

"I wouldn't say anything is wrong with him..." Tavros muttered. "Being a mutant could be a part of why he's in so much more pain than I remember being in after the surgery, but he is such a little trooper. I'm sure he'll be back on his feet in no time."

"Think we'd be able to set up a skype call so Dave can see him?" Bro asked. "He's really worried about him."
