Dave smiled, his laugh finally lowering to a light snicker. "Same goes for you, Vantas." Seeing this playful and uplifting side of Karkat was different compared to the crabby and cranky troll he knew during the game. He then began to wonder if...things would change once his memory was jogged. If he would go back to being verbally aggressive and the like.

Dave blinked, looking at him with surprise. "How did...?" He didn't remember showing his eyes to anyone, especially not Karkat. Hell, the only people who knew his eye color was Bro and John. And the only reason John knew was because Dave got drunk one time and called John via webcam. What a story he heard the morning after. Finally deciding to just regard the question, he gave a light nod. "Yeah, I am."

By reflex, Dave gripped Karkat's wrist before he had a chance to even touch the frames of his tinted shades. He stared at him for a moment before slowly releasing his grip, trusting the Cancer. "Go ahead..."

Karkat hesitated, biting his lip before reaching up and carefully sliding Dave's shades off his face. He gave a small snicker. "You have a tan line around where these things have been sitting on your face." he grinned.

"Yeah I know." He said with a smile. "Can't really avoid that since I have to wear them for medical reasons. I've tried sunblock before, but it doesn't really work for me."

Karkat paused when Dave smiled, his own smirk dissolving into neutrality as he observed Dave. "You look nice..." he mumbled shyly, looking away once he caught himself staring "When you smile I mean." To distract himself, he slipped Dave's shades on and smirked at him. "Hey, look at me! I'm Dave Fuckass! I'm too cool for you! Fuck that noise!"

Dave blinked, about to say something towards the compliment or maybe give one of his own. But after that last statement, Dave could do nothing but just bust out laughing. "Oh come on, that's a horrible impersonation." he said with a snicker.

"In class?" Karkat asked, slipping Dave's shades off and handing them back to him carefully. "That's because I don't like being around a lot of people at once, trolls more so than humans. I just don't make friends very easy. I only look uptight because I'm on edge." He tilted his head and looked past Dave. "Here comes the bus"

Dave gave a thoughtful hum before slipping the shades back on his face, looking down the street to see the bus actually coming closer. His poker flace slipped back on, jusf in time for when the other pink monkies emerged from the bus.
