Karkat Gathered up a clean change of clothes and moved to stand by Dave. He chirped expectantly to get his attention, wanting to know where the absolution trap was so he could clean up.

When Dave spotted Karkat's fresh clothes in hand, he assumed that meant that the troll wanted to change in his room. "Oh, do you need privacy?" He asked, slowly rising from his seat into a standing position.

Karkat shook his head and chirped again. He tried to make the motion for water or possibly rain and chirped expectantly. He wasn't sure if Dave understood or not.

The sign for rain made Dave wonder if Karkat was trying to signal for him to remain seated while the sign for water made Dave think that he was telling him to do something three times, or maybe two if they weren't counting thumbs. "I have no idea what you're trying to say," he finally stated plainly, scratching the back of his head.

Karkat let out a soundless sigh and leaned over towards his keyboard. He typed a simple question in the word document Dave already had open. 'where is the absolution trap?'

Karkat gave him a pleased chirp and headed out of the room to wash up. He figured he neeeded to take the bandage off his horn as well, the dried blood was starting to stink.

Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat) - Page 9 Empty Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)

Waiting for Karkat to leave the room, Dave made a new document after stashing the former lyrics deep inside at least a million files, not that it would really stop Bro from ever finding them. It would probably just make him more curious as to what the hell he was hiding. So it looked like he was back to square one. On the bright side, he at least had the music and the rhythm down, he just didn't have any lyrics that would pair up with it quite as nicely.

What if he did something about the latest disease killing people off? After all, how could you let the person who sang about fucking bitches win over the guy who sang about something that broke everyone's heart? Nah, he couldn't do that; those always were such a cheap shot and he hated it when other people did that in contests. It's usually a good idea to sing about something serious, but if you're in a contest, don't make it a Requiem for a Dream depressing if you don't want to get the shit beat out of you after the show. The worst competition he had been in was when everyone had picked something about as equally fucked up as the next and the judges were the ones left looking like monsters because they had to decide which song was better: the one about starving kids in Africa or the one about kids with cancer.

He keyboard mashed furiously, deleting that a moment afterwards and just staring at his screen. Something needed to come to him quick or he was going to be completely fucked over when the competition came up. Well, at least he had three weeks before that would arrive, so maybe not that quick, but it made him anxious all the same for not having lyrics to go with such a sick beat. It was like leaving a big blank patch in a gorgeous painting. Like if the Mona Lisa's face was missing.

Dave leaned back in his seat, running his hands through his hair in frustration. Fuck it. He couldn't write if he wasn't inspired. The only reason he was able to make anything last time was because he was thinking about his best bro John the entire time. So maybe he had to think about someone else. Who the fuck did he know well enough that he could write a song about them? Bro. No, not even Bro; he didn't understand as much about Bro as he liked to think he did, not that that really mattered since he could just make it incredibly vague and make it sound like he was talking about anybody. Maybe he could talk about everybody? Yeah, ok. But what about everybody? What was everybody doing that was worth singing about? God damn it; he had nothing.

Karkat peeled the bandage off his horn before stepping into the shower. The water felt nice as it tapped against his horns and hair, washing away all the sweat and dried blood and general nastiness.

He was in there for a while, taking great care to clean every part of himself gently, and he finally got out and dressed after nearly half an hour. He carried his dirty clothes back into Dave's room and set them by his bags.

Karkat looked up at Dave with a questioning chirp. Noting his posture, he stood and moved to the keyboard and typed out a few sentances.

'i guess if i were any good at that sort of thing, i'd write about the game. you could do it and have a small section on each person in your session, then the end, and john said he woke up like it was all a dream and never happened, but then we were here and you could make the song like it was all just a shared dream'

It was sort of off putting to see the troll type in lowercase. He had once been told about how Karkat only reserved that sort of typing for when he was dangerously angry. Ok. So. Maybe the troll couldn't be mad all the time. That and the most terrifying he had seen the troll since he got here was about... never.

But that wasn't a bad idea actually. Dave lifted his head from his hands and half smiled at the troll. "A rap about the craziest fucking dream we ever shared. I guess I could try and work with that."

Karkat shrugged and moved over to his corner to fix his 'nest' which had been destroyed in his fit last night. Once that was done, he pulled a metal file from his bag and sat on one of the bean bags to start filing his claws back down.

Dave struggled for a while to start with the idea Karkat had given him, but once he got going, he kept at it, typing away like a maniac, regardless of the mistakes he made along the way. It wasn't often that he would have to pause and think about what he should put down next, it just came naturally and he let it flow as it did before. Once it was a little past noon, he finally stopped clacking away and turned in his chair towards Karkat, "I'm gonna grab some lunch. Want me to pick you up something?"

"Ok, pickled pig's feet and dried cow tongue it is then," Dave said nonchalantly, rising from his seat and grabbing his socks from a drawer, pulling them on. Just as he started putting his shoes on, he looked over at Karkat, stating, "Before I go, I want to fix up your horn. I think it might be infected."

Grudgingly, Karkat lowered his head. He wouldn't be able to see well enough to do anything about it, and if it was infected it needed to be treated, so might as well let Dave do it.

Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat) - Page 9 Empty Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)

Not wanting to waste the opportunity Karkat was presenting him, Dave finished up tying his laces and stood in front of the troll, parting his hair delicately to examine his horn. Huh. The wound had already gotten itself patched over with a thin scab, so that was a good sign. The only problem was that there was a small blotch of greenish white puss on the corner of the scab, which probably meant that there was more under it. Dave cursed under his breath. He should have applied more rubbing alcohol or some other form of antiseptic.

Dave chewed on the inside of his cheek before stating, "I'll get the kit," and headed out of the room to flashstep back in with the first aid. He placed the kit on Karkat's lap and returned again with a small kitchen knife. He took careful steps towards the troll, holding his hands up to show that he meant no harm, "Ok, now, don't freak out. I've just got to cut out the infection first before I can clean it out and get your wrapped up, alright?"

Karkat's head snapped up and he back peddled into the corner, his hands splayed out on either wall as he did his best to growl threateningly. His eyes, however, displayed his terror.

With an aggravated sigh, Dave crossed his arms, taking caution of the knife he was holding as he held his ground. "Look, if I leave it alone, it's only gonna get worse. If you do it, you'll probably chop a finger off. If you'd like, I could knock you out with some pills Bro has stashed around the house so you won't feel a thing." He wasn't joking about that last part either. As a matter of fact, he might just do that if Karkat didn't come to his senses fast enough to beat his patience.

Karkat's growling got a little louder, and he tried to press himself farther into the wall. There was no way Dave would be able to get him to take anything, so he wasn't worried about that. But he was worried about that knife.

Looked like they were up for some good old fashioned wrestling. Dave stashed the knife away in his sylladex and took off to go grab some pills but suddenly his pace slowed down and he thought about what happened before. Rough housing had landed him in this mess. What if he accidentally shattered the troll's horn this time and made things worse? If violence wasn't the answer then... aw Hell. Dave turned on his heel and went back into his room.

"I don't want to have to hold you down and shove drugs in your mouth, Karkat. Just..." He took the knife out of his sylladex and shoved it in his computer desk then stepped in front of Karkat so that he blocked any area he could have had to escape as he spoke up again, "Stop flipping your lid like I'm out for blood or whatever it is you think I'm trying to do. I have not one good reason to hurt you, ok? Seriously, list a single fucking reason that it would be in my best interests to hurt you." Dave's voice hinted annoyance, but his face showed signs of concern.

Karkat's growling rose in pitch and he drew his legs up to his chest. There was no denying that he was trapped, but there was no way he was willingly letting Dave put that knife near his horns.
