Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Dave winced, massaging the area Bro had hit him, "How the Hell could I have KNOWN? I thought he was just being a dick. He kind of gives off that impression when he's flashing middle fingers left and right, jackass. That's about the extent of his 'ASL' as far as I can tell."
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
"Did you ever wonder how Rob or John talk to him?" Bro asked, crossing his arms. "John had to learn it for boy scouts, Rob learned it from him. Now go out there and bond with him, I've got to get ready to go. And make sure to check on his horn tonight."
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
"Yeah, I'll just master sign language in less than a month. No biggie." Dave stated, heading out of the kitchen to go check up on said troll.
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
"I didn't say you had to master it." Bro replied, following him out to get his stuff together. "Just suggested you learn it."
Karkat was curled up in his little corner of the couch, pouting and watching the tv.

Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Dave mumbled back at Bro, out of earshot to Karkat, "Yeah, well, even that's going to be limited communication."
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Bro rolled his eyes and grabbed his gear. "Behave yourselves. Don't kill each other." he stated before leaving.
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Dave moved around the futon and took a seat opposite of Karkat, resuming his original, leaned back position with his feet on the coffee table. It looked like he hadn't missed anything since he last left off besides the bride was now climbing onto the table and embarrassing her family on tv.
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Karkat looked hesitantly over to Dave. He didn't want to be on his bad side now, especially after Bro had told them not to kill each other, reminding him that Dave actually could.
Remembering that he had a nugget left, he hesitantly leaned forward to get it off the table, then leaned over and set the box next to Dave's leg, before returning to his previous position.

Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Dave glanced at the chicken nuggets box and picked it up, realizing that there was still a nugget in there when he heard something slide around inside it. He opened the lid and glanced back at Karkat, raising a brow. Well, the big mac hadn't been entirely filling, so he might as well finish the troll's left overs if he was offering them.
"Um. Thanks?" He took the chicken nugget out and bit half of it off, wondering if this was going to be their thing now, indirectly offering food to the other.

Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Karkat ducked his head, suddenly finding his socks interesting. He wriggled his toes to give himself something to focus on.
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Dave ate the other half of the nugget and offered the remote to Karkat in his other hand, "If you're bored, you can change the channel to whatever."
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Karkat shook his head hurriedly and curled up a little. He didn't usually watch tv anyway, just movies every once in a while with John. TV bored him most of the time.
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
"Wanna play video games?" Dave asked instead, setting the remote down between them.
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Karkat shyly shook his head. He wasn't any good at multiplayer games, and he needed to file down his claws again. He would hate to ruin a controller and get in trouble with Dave.
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Dave sighed, keeping his gaze on Karkat. "Then what do you want to do little dude?"
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Karkat shrugged hesitantly, then took his arms off from around his legs. He carefully signed something out with his hands before returning them to their position.
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Dave quirked a brow at Karkat, stating, "I can't read sign language. Be back one second." He flashstepped off the futon and returned with the pencil and notepad, offering it to the troll again, "I'll try and pick up on sign language later, but just use this for now."
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Karkat took the pencil and note pad, scribbling something down slowly. He ripped off the first page and handed it to Dave, starting to write on the second.
'John and me watch movies sometimes when theres nothing to do or I read or I play on my game device but Im not good at many people games'
He ripped off the second page and handed it to Dave as well.
'Johns dad started teach me how to cook too'

Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Dave read the papers, wondering how someone who seemed to excel at typing novel-long memos could be so shitty when it came to writing things down. "Okaaaay, that doesn't really answer my question, but alright."
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Karkat scribbled something down, showing the pad to Dave. 'what do you want to do?'
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
"Whatever makes you not so bored, I guess." Dave replied vaguely, shrugging. He would have been fine with just watching tv until he fell asleep, but that didn't seem to be good enough to keep the troll occupied.
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Karkat scribbled something else down. 'I can read if you want to watch tv I dont care'
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
"Yeah, but if I let you do that, you'll probably just go back to sleep and it can't be good for you to sleep all day and night, you know?" Dave reminded, stretching back on the couch. John seemed to enjoy playing board games with him, that being he would snort and giggle every time he suggested it, so he figured it couldn't hurt to ask, "Would a board game keep you awake? We could play cards if that's not your thing."
He snickered teasingly, "Could play strip poker if you're really bored." But he was honest to God just kidding with that one. He had played it once, but it had gone horribly, horribly wrong.

Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Karkat tilted his head questioningly. 'what is strip poker?' he wrote down, frowning slightly. John never taught him any card games, mainly just board games and a few video games that he was particularly fond of.
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Well, Karkat did have a naivety about him that was undeniable, though it didn't stop Dave from quirking a brow at the troll all the same. "You mean you've never even heard of it?" He rested his hands behind his head, smirking up at the ceiling, "Ok, you at least know what poker is, right? Because it's pretty much that, but you strip if you lose."
