After Cal had been asleep for about an hour, his cell phone, which was sitting on the coffee table, started to ring with Bro's personalized ring tone.

The youngest Strider was broken out of his thoughts by the ring, leaning forward and picking up the phone. He frowned when he saw it was Bro, but he knew better than to ignore the call. He flipped the phone open and pushed the button to answer. He pressed the phone to his ear. "Sup."

"Where's Cal?" Bro asked gruffly, straight to the point. The club music was thumping lightly in the background, just soft enough for Dave to tell that he was standing outside to make the call.

He raised a brow, hearing the music. Figures he would be at a club, most likely another gig. "Sleeping. And no, I'm not going to wake him up. What do you want?" he asked, his tone flat.

"I just wanted to tell him that I got called in to work 3rd shift. I have clothes in my car, but I have to leave this gig early and I'll probably only just make it to my gig tomorrow, so I won't be back until tomorrow night." Bro replied with an agitated sigh. "Tell him I said I love him and I miss him, alright? And, you too I guess. But don't get used to hearing it. Got it?"

"Yeah I got it. But do me a favor and stop lying. We both know you don't mean it towards me." Dave said, a hint of anger in his voice. "We both know you can't wait to be able to boot my ass to the curb just so it can be just you and Cal again. I got news for you: he's asleep because we went to a bar and he got drunk. I really fucking wonder why because we both know Cal doesn't drink."

"Let me give you a little tidbit" Bro replied, his voice hard. "Cal only drinks when he's upset. I fucking know I upset him, and I do love you, I just don't particularly like you. I know I fucked up, and I know it hurts Cal's feelings when I kick you out so we can have some fucking alone time. But you know what? I wouldn't kick you out of the apartment for good unless you really deserve it, because Cal wouldn't be able to handle it."

"Kind of strange to love someone and not like them." He said sarcastically. Well no, that was a lie, it isn't that weird. For human standards it was. He knew about the troll quadrants, particularly kismesissitude. As for what Bro said last, he smirked darkly. "Unless I really deserve it, huh? Would that involve your little sweetheart having feelings for me? Because to me, that's what's going on right now." Dave didn't care if he was going to get an ass kicking later; this was too much fun.

"Of course he has fucking feelings for you, he raised you. Wouldn't it be fucking weird to nurture someone their whole fucking life and not give a damn?" Bro snapped in response.

"So oblivious its adorable. I'm talking more than platonic. More along the lines of what you have. Or should I say, barely have." He slipped down in a slouch, giving him the appearance of being as cocky as he sounded. "I'd keep your eyes on him, Bro. You may just find he's in someone else's arms right under your nose. You may say you love him, but you have to show him rather than tell him. He doesn't want someone who goes and fucks girls out of spite just because you get in arguments. You need to wise up, asshole."

"Cal wouldn't do that" Bro snapped. "So shut the fuck up." And with that parting comment, Bro hung up on him.

Dave chuckled as he closed the phone, shaking his head. If Bro knew Cal wouldn't go running to someone else, then why was he getting so upset? This was going to be interesting. He sighed, looking at the clock. It was just nearing 1 o'clock. He got up and walked to the kitchen, getting a bottle of juice. He wasn't sure if Cal needed more sleep or not, so he decided to wait.

Cal was still in his last position, sleeping deeply. His phone didn't even wake him, though it probably would have woken the downstairs neighbors, if they had any on the floor below them, which they didn't.

He leaned against the counter, drinking his juice. Once he finished it, he tossed the empty bottle in the trash can. He stood there for a moment before pushing off of the counter. He slowly walked to his room, poking his head in the doorway to look over at his bed.

Cal was curled up, snuggled down in Dave's pillow, with the towel only just covering his ass.

Dave stepped inside the room, walking until he was standing beside the bed. He removed the towel, taking a look at his ass before he covered him properly with the blanket. He gently sat beside him, reaching out to run his fingers through his blonde curls. All the while, he wondered who Cal would pick if it came down to it: him or Bro.

Cal made a sleepy little noise and tilted his head into Dave's touch. His eyelids flickered lightly and he wriggled closer.

He scooted closer, gently lifting Cal's head from the pillow. He slipped his leg under neath, setting his head down on his thigh. He resumed his previous actions, very content with just watching the middle Strider sleep.

Cal hummed softly and nuzzled Dave's leg. His eyes slowly flickered open. "Hnmm, Dave?" he asked softly, tilting his head so he could look up.

"Hey..." he said, leaning down to place a kiss to his forehead. "...Bro called." He figured he should relay the info Bro told him, lest he make the poor guy worry.

"So?" Cal yawned, tugging the blanket up to his chin. "I'm still mad at him. mostly. So I don't care if he calls. He only calls when we've had a fight anyway. Not even just to tell me he loves me"

"He just wanted me to let you know a couple things." He started. "He got called in to work 3rd shift. He has a change of clothes, and he probably won't be back until tomorrow night." He paused before mumbling the last part. "He says he loves and misses you...Me too,, but I didn't believe that." He looked away to the floor.

"He does love you" Cal gave a little smile, nuzzling Dave's leg. "Even if he doesn't show it. And I love you, and I make sure to show it. Now give me a kiss."

He gave a light sigh. "Sometimes I wonder if he does..." Dave returned his gaze to Cal at the command, complying by leaning down and pressing a kiss to his lips.

Cal's smile widened. "What were we talking about before?" he asked, turning his face away after a moment.
