"Lead the way, sir." he said, following beside him. He looked at the people what they passed, both the sick and the well. He smiled when he saw a beaming mother wheel past them, holding a brand new baby boy. "From what I hear, Cal is really good at what he does." He said as he returned his gaze forward.

"He is exceedingly wonderful at his job and he will make a fine pediatrician when he graduates." Manson agreed. "He just has a few self esteem issues that he needs to iron out." He led him to the main lobby and over to a large door made of frosted glass with his name on it headed by Director of Medicine. "Just make yourself comfortable"

"Don't I know it. He played nurse with me all the time as a kid whenever I got hurt. And as for those issues, I plan on working them out." he said with a grin, sitting down in a chair that was in front of the desk. He glanced around his office, noting that the lights weren't all that bright, but he decided to keep his shades on for the sake of his own reassurance.

"His issues, or yours?" Manson asked, moving to sit in the chair behind the desk. He picked up a legal pad and a pencil and began writing notes, glancing up at Dave occasionally.

Dave looked thoughtful for a moment. "His. They're more important to me anyway." he said. He wasn't exactly on edge, but he wasn't entirely relaxed either. Most likely due to Lalondes multiple attempts to crack him open like an egg. He would most likely hear hell from her if he spilled about this event to her.

He rolled his eyes unseen behind his shades. "Where to begin." he said dryly. "She's an arrogant douchebag who acts like he's 5. Cal is constantly on his case, and Brow's grand idea of making him stop is to get affectionate and heated." He looked up at the ceiling, crossing his arms. "He's hardly home. Well, neither is Cal, but that's because he's doing something...well, important. Bro goes and plays gigs, which is where most of our finances come from, but he ends up staying out way later than the gig has gone on. " Dave paused before continuing. "We all take part in something we call Strifing, sort of like dueling. Its a hobby, but it's become more than that: its become a way for Bro to take out his frustrations. And when that doesn't work, another drink down his fucking gullet apparently does." He blinked and looked at him. "Sorry, I'll mind my language." he said quietly, realizing his slip up.

"I guess you can say that." he started, leaning back into the chair. "I guess you can say it's almost something close to...jealousy? Really, Bro pays me no attention like he used to. He's more interested in getting Cal into bed before he even acknowledges my existence. I'm waiting for him to boot me out once I hit 18, but I'm sure Cal wont allow that." he looked down, his lips pressed into a thin frown. "We used to be so close...I have no fucking clue what happened. Like yesterday, I stopped him from having his way with Cal...the first thing he wanted to do is beat my head in. He initiated a Strife, but Cal intervened, and then he left in a hurry. He went to the bar, of course..." His hands curled into fists. "...He came back with lipstick on his collar. Nothing new either. That always happens after they fight."

"Do you remember when your Brother started to grow more distant with you?" Manson asked, making a note of the events Dave mentioned so he could come back to them later. "How old you were maybe? Or was it triggered by something?"

"I guess after--" he cut himself off, closing his mouth. The man wouldn't understand if he said 'after the game'. "...after my 15th birthday I guess. Bro is a very jealous person. He gets upset when Cal wants to spend any time with me...and I guess his constant advances are an act of showing dominance? I don't know, that's just my guess..."he shrugged.

Manson paused in his writing to look up at Dave. "Perhaps he knows about your feelings and is trying to 'nip them in the bud'. Now, what do you think he does when he goes out after he and Cal fight?

"I would say that's the reason. If it wasn't for the fact that these feelings for Cal are...recently discovered. I always thought what we had was platonic, but...Obviously on my side, that's not the case." At the second part of what he said, Dave let out a wry laugh. "Oh, there's no THINKING about it. We know what he does. He goes and fucks other people, mainly club bunnies, either out of spite or just to vent. Either way, it's fucking unfair to Cal who has to suffer. Cal, who's been loyal to him from the very beginning!" Dave went silent then, realizing how riled up he was getting. He took a deep breath and settled, slipping his poker face on to try and further calm himself.

Dave looked down and crossed his arms, thinking for a moment. "...I guess when we left after Bro stormed off...I actually started asking him things, about the internship...because I never really thought about it before. And it just...it made me think twice about how I feel about him." He paused before deciding to go on. "He slept in my room that night...for obvious reasons. And as I watched him sleep, I felt so sorry for him...I wanted him to be taken away from the pain Bro inflicted, and I couldn't help but think he deserves someone better..."

"Well, what I felt towards Cal before yesterday was a platonic sort of love...Him and Bro have been there my entire life, so of course we had that sort of connection. As for Bro, well...it was more of a rivalry. Nothing serious, just the whole sibling relationship stereotype..." He frowned now. "But now I think it's developed into something further..."

"Of course it has. Now that you're almost into adulthood, you are a rival not only as a sibling, but as the dominant force in the household. Cal is obviously no threat since he is easily dominated by your brother, but you do not give in so easily which causes him to feel the need to exert power over you in any way he can." Manson replied. "And now even you've become a threat to his relationship, so you are a rival in love and possibly lust as well."

Dave blinked, sort of startled by this. He looked down, trying to take it all in. Was that really true? Did Bro really see him as such a threat? The thought had him sighing, and thinking about his thoughts on Bros feelings towards him. He wanted attention from Bro, sure, but now it was going to be for the wrong reasons...

"...what do I do?" he asked quietly.

"I'm just wondering how things got this way....Everything was fine before, when I was younger. They didn't fight nearly a much and we always did shit together. But now it's almost like our little family is..." he paused, trying to think of the word. "...broken." He closed his eyes and removed his shades to pinch the bridge of his nose, attempting to stop an oncoming headache.

"Cal didn't have his internship back then, and Bro didn't go to as many gigs...and I also think it has to do with the whole dominance thing. He never had to worry about me back then because I was like a little puppy, constantly mimicking him and his actions...Now though, we don't have as much time together." He removed his hand and slipped his shades back on, opening his eyes as he did so. A small flash of red was visible for a second before it disappeared behind shields of black.

"I'm sure I can manage-- wait what?" he said, sounding surprised. "Um...That's cool and all, but I must inform you that I'm still in high school...wont that interfere?" he asked him. He was all for taking the job, but Cal would be on his case about education being more important.
