"Of course. Minors can only volunteer during the after school hours and I'll set up your schedule so your hours will be the same as Cal's. So you'll only get a few days a week at most." Manson smiled. "If your grades start to slip, you can pull back on the hours."

Dave just stared at him in awe before a grin spread on his face. "That's...pretty kick ass." he stood up. "Thank you so much Mr. Manson." He was thrilled. Not only would he be helping out and being around Cal, he would also have more time away from Bro; he pretty much figured that was a win/win for the both of them.

He gave him a nod before turning and leaving the office, closing the door behind him. He hurried along, taking the elevator (like he was going to take his chances with the stairs) up to the pediatrics ward. He looked around, slowly walking a he looked for Cal.

A passing nurse paused. "Do you need any help sir?" she asked innocently. "Are you looking for someone?"

Cal was easily seen through a glass door, smiling and talking as a few kids dashed around and past the door. He had a clip board in his hands, which he kept looking down at.

He grinned when he saw the other at work looking so happy. He opened the door and stepped inside minding the children that ran past. He walked over and stood beside him. "Love that smile." he stated looking around the place.

He nodded. "Yeah. He said he's going to give me a uniform before we leave." He gave a shrug. "I guess I did something right." Dave watched the little children running around, smiles on their young faces and laughter spilling out. It almost made his heart swell; he could see why Cal enjoyed this job despite the morbid outcomes.

A little boy ran up and clung to Cal's leg. "Cal, Cal! who's that?" he asked, his big green eyes focused on Dave. "Is that your boyfriend??"

Cal's blush darkened and a little girl with no hair attached herself to Cal's waist. "Caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaal! You're bluuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuushing!"

Dave looked at the swarm of children and chuckled, finding their innocent aura adorable. "Nah, I'm just a really close friend. Family even." he said, looking at Cal. "Right?" He wondered if Cal would possibly confirm Dave's statement...or if he would confirm the children's.

"Um, right!" Cal nodded hastily. "Um, why don't you all introduce yourselves to Dave?"

"I'm Danny!" The green eyed boy grinned.

"I'll Elli!" The bald girl replied. She pointed out several of the other children and named them as well. "That's John, Remmi, Sarah and Jackie!"

"There are a few others, but um, they had treatment today" Cal mumbled.

He looked at them all as they introduced themselves or were introduced. He committed the names to memory, looking at Cal as he spoke. "I see..." He looked back down at the kids who seemed to find him the most interesting thing on the planet right now. "Well I'm glad to have finally met you." he said with a grin. No sense in using his poker face around children.

"Are you the one that makes music?" Elli asked, abandoning Cal in favor of attaching herself to Dave. "Cal says that somebody he lives with makes music and he brings it for us to hear"

"I bring Dave's music, I don't think you'd like Brodrick's music. Its very grown up." Cal replied

"Downright trashy." he stated with a snort. He looked down at the little girl, giving her a nod. "Yeah, that's me. I actually brought something new for you guys today." He didn't mind the clinging, even though he wasn't one who liked to be touched outside of Bro and Cal.

"Really?" The girl grinned. "I like music! I was learning to play the cello before I got sick"

"I have the disk, I'll put it in" Cal smiled. He gently detached the boy from his leg and moved over to a boom box.

"Cello, huh? Well then you should like this track. It's got classical music mixed in." He explained with a smile. Dave watched Cal as he walked away, unable to help the small glance to his ass. Thankfully, no one was able to see due to his shades.

"What kind of classical?" Elli asked enthusiastically. "I really like all kinds of classical, but orchestra music is my favorite!"

"Then you're in luck." he said, giving a grin. "There are several orchestra swells in there, but there's also some techno orchestra as well." He was amused by her enthusiasm, and he also admired her interest in music.

Cal finally made it to the boombox, having to stop for several children along the way, and put the disk in. The music was turned on immediately, set to an appropriate volume while the kids all rushed to little chairs or a brightly colored rug evidently designated at the dance space.

Dave blinked, not realizing that his music seemed to be so important to these kids. One more stroke for his already over-inflated musical ego. He leaned back against the wall, watching their faces for reaction to certain parts of the song.

All of the children loved different parts of the song. They all loved the intricate sound it created though, dancing and giggling happily till the end, when they all cheered for it to be played again.
