"He is. He likes that I'm taking the initiative to bulk up a little. He's even cutting down on the cakes a little more because I told him that I wouldn't be getting anywhere if I constantly had sugar crammed down my throat." John said with a nod, watching as the meat started to brown.

"So how have things been with you? I was starting to wonder if something had happened to you- you disappeared for a while."

Jake frowned slightly. He couldn't imagine John without tummy pudge. It made him...him. In Jake's opinion anyway. He tried not to sigh when John brought up where he had been. Lately the elder had been spending more and more time alone. He wasn't trying to isolate himself. He just....needed some space. Being around so many people was exhausting.

He grinned again as he stirred the mix again. "Just getting in some quality time with myself."

"Is everything okay though?" He asked as he moved a little closer, now hovering over Jake's shoulder. "Cause I even tried messaging you a few times. I was really worried." John said with a light frown. Though it was hard to be sad when a smell as good as that was invading your nostrils, and when your stomach was growling. "..Is it almost ready?" He asked quietly.

Jake tickled his stomache lightly. All he wanted to do right now was pull John into his lap, kissing his face nad telling him everything was alright. Instead he dug out two paper plates and two plastic forks. "I'm quite alright little chap. I just needed some to to myself. I do my best thinking then." He handed a plate and fork ove to John. "Don't worry your swwet little head. Now, take as much as you can fit in that belly."

John let out a tiny little sound, flinching before playfully swatting Jake's hand away. "Stop that." He mumbled. He honestly didn't mind it at all- the contact was innocent enough and felt nice. But he knew Jake would stop doing it if he knew it didn't bother him as much as he led on. He took hold of his plate and fork with a nod of thanks before scooping some onto his plate. He sat down on the stump and waited a little for it to cool before taking a bite.

The sound that came out of his mouth was both loud and pleased.

"Holy shit this is good."

Jake was laughing as he scooped up a large portion for himself. "I might not be a gourmet cook, but I can name something that's edible." He took a seat next to John on the ground. He smiled at the younger. Times like these he felt like a selfish twat. John looked up to him. As a close friend and relative. It was sick of Jake to want more of him. But he was just so gosh darn cute. He had a greaalways upt taste in movies, comics, and music. He was almost for a friendly round two of fisticuffs. John was everything Jake could ask for in a significant other.

"Let's talk about you Johnathan. What have you been up to?"

He shifted a little closer to his relative as he took another bite, making a sound to signal that he needed to finish chewing. "Nothing really new. Been talking to my friends, watching newer movies, working out. Otherwise, everything's been the same." He said as he stirred his food. "Going from public school to virtual school was the best decision I ever made."

Jake raised a brow. He really needed to stay in the loop. Or keep in touch with someone in the loop. He hardly knew what was going on with his friends. "Virtual school? That sounds boring. What's wrong with public school?"

"I couldn't focus properly enough to get the grades I needed. So my adviser suggested virtual school. It's the same lesson plan, but without the mental stress of the classroom." He explained with a grin before taking another bite. "I'm doing much better now. Plus I set my own deadlines, so I have much more free time."

Jake grinned back at him. "I'm glad to hear you're happy at least. You're a smart young lad John." He was already halfway done with his first serving.

"Thanks Jake." He took his last bite of his portion before putting more on his plate. It was a very tasty dish that wasn't too hearty or filling, but it seemed to be doing the job.

Jake smiled as he finished his food and watched John. He quite enjoyed his time with his youngest cousin. They didn't have to shoot the breeze constantly. They could just sit in comfortable silence. He took more food after John took another plateful. It wasn't nearly as much as his fist plate.

John ate and ate, and he finally stopped after his third plate, which was only filled to half. He set his plate aside and stretched with a groan before letting out a belch. "'Scuse." He chuckled. "Good food though. Almost as good as my dad's."

Jake had only eaten one more plate of food after eating his first. "I'm glad you think so highly of my cooking. Grab a trash bag out of the supply bag."

John nodded and stood up, rummaging through the supply bag, making a sound as he found the trash bags. He pulled one out before dumping his dishes into it, placing it near Jake for when he was done.

John nodded eagerly before he went to go fish out the towels. "Should we use bathing suits or just say fuck clothes?" He asked.

Jake blinked in confusion again. Oh yeah. Swimsuits. "Well...I didn't bring one. I usually swim bare when I'm here." Maybe she should have thought about that a bit more when he was packing. He grabbed the jug of water marked for cleaning and dumped about a cup full into the skillet.

"That's fine, no problem." John grinned as he grabbed their towels and headed towards the lakeside. "Meetcha there!" He called out.

When he had arrived, he made sure no one was around before stripping down completely, setting his clothes aside with the towels. He put his glasses with them as well before slowly making his way into the water.

Jake wiped the skillet and packed the food stuff back in the jeep before following John to the lake. He smiled as he watched the younger one in the water. He was just too gosh darn cute for his own good. Jake started to strip. "Cold?"

"Nah, 's just right." John grinned as he stood up a little to gain his stability, running his hands through his hair to slick the locks back out of his face. "You get used to it."

Jake grinned at him as he made his way over. "Didn't think you'd be able to handle it. You're a tough little nugget." He winked at John when he got to the edge of the lake, jumping right in.

"That sounds insulting." John said before Jake jumped in, shielding his face from the after-splash. He looked around, eyes squinted slightly as he searched for Jake's resurfacing.

Jake shook his head when he popped up. "Sorry little lad. I wasn't trying to insult you. You really are a tough boy." He did his signature double pistols and a wink for John. Ladies (and even some gentlemen) absolutely loved it. He really wasn't sure why either. Maybe they just thought his buck teeth were incredibly funny. Jake loved smiling to much to really care. They could all frick off. "Bloody hell. I can't see a darn thing."

Jake was squinting as he tried to look around. He could only see about a foot in front of him. Everything else was a giant blur.

"I know, Jake. I was kidding like you were." John said as he looked in his direction with a smile. He could make out the movements of the Double Pistols and a Wink gesture, and it had him chuckling. "You big dork."

He swam a little closer to his cousin after the last comment, nodding lightly. "I can hardly see either. But hey, 's not like we need to worry about seeing, right? I mean, you're right here." He smirked as he splashed him.
