John felt his gut clench again as he started to cry harder. It was stupid of him to think Jake would ever see him as more than his baby cousin. Jake was smart and funny and handsome. He could have anyone he wanted. And that person was Dirk. Not ugly, fatty, needy little John. "I'm sorry."

Jake started to panic slightly, unsure of what had set John off. He shushed him softly, putting the popcorn down to pet his head. "Don't cry!"

John sobbed, trying to calm down and failing miserably. "I shouldn't have touched myself. I'm sorry, but I couldn't help it. I got flustered..." He was playing with the hem of his shirt. "I'm gross, I'm sorry."

Jake pulled John into his arms and hugged him tightly. He felt horribly guilty now for getting so jealous. "I love you too" he mumbled into John's hair.

It was family love. Love from one cousin to another. That's all it was. John felt like crying all over again. He nuzzled Jake's chest lightly. "Love you more," he mumbled.
