Karkat was near dozing off again when they finally lead Jack in. He was surprised to see him again so soon. "Thought you weren't coming back till monday" he stated to Karkat.

Karkat looked up. "Dad" he mumbled

Jack scowled at Jeff. "You must be the Jeff I heard about last time" he growled.

Karkat nodded, wiggling in Jeff's lap until he could turn and hold his arms out to Jack.

Jack crossed the room and lifted Karkat into his arms. "Yer running a fever babe" he mumbled "They not takin' good 'nough care a' ya?"

Jeff let Jack lift Karkat out of his lap. He was frowning now. "Yeah, I'm Jeff. And we've been takin good care of him."

If looks could kill, then the look Jack shot Jeff would have him buiried in a deep grave in the back woods of bumfuck nowhere never to be seen again.

Karkat let out a soft protest. "He's been taking good care of me" he mumbled. "He's been sharing his bed with me when Dave's being grumpy, and he's been making me soup, and he let's me cuddle his puppet thing named Cal that is very comforting"

Jeff nodded at what Karkat said as he tried to ignore Jack's glare. "Karkat is family to us."

"I don't like Dave like that" Karkat mumbled. "don't worry dad"

"When I was really sick" Karkat mumbled. "He kept kissing me, and I told him I was sick and he said he didn't care"

Jack growled. "I'll kill him."

Jack nodded and the rest of the visit was him just holding Karkat while he dozed.

When the 40 minutes were up, the guard came back, and Jack grudgingly gave Karkat back to Jeff, but not before kissing his head.
