"I am not convinced," Karkat chuckled, kicking his legs merrily out to the side. "If I could read minds, I would never let anyone know. Although that might be from my unfortunate disposition of being a lifeless red and grey splatter, seeing as how I would have jumped off the nearest cliff before my first wriggling day if I had to listen to everyone's mindless monologuing every time I had to suffer through the displeasure of greeting someone in person."

Bro simply laughed. "No you wouldn't. You'd probably talk nasty about their thoughts behind their back like you do with their faces and opinions"

Karkat stopped kicking to pout. "Now I feel like a shitty gossip girl."

"I don't talk behind people's backs..." Karkat grumbled. "Anything I have to say about them, I tell it to their face. If I talk shit about them when they aren't around, it's not like they don't already know I hate them in person."

Karkat pulled a hand off Bro's neck to inspect his nails. "Not any more."

"I wouldn't hurt you on purpose," Karkat murmured. "Unless you wanted me to. Not metaphorically speaking, I mean."

Karkat wiggled his feet again when they reached the park, eager to run over to swings while there were still two available.

Bro set Karkat on his feet. "Go for it" he smiled.

Karkat immediately sprinted over to the swing set, grabbing a chain from both of the swings to make sure Bro had one of his own.

Bro chuckled as he walked over. "Need me to teach you?" he asked

Karkat took a seat on one of the swings. "Yes, now get over here and show me how it's done."
