Re: Provocation of a Fluke (Bro/Karkat)
Karkat frowned at the kids, starting to feel selfish for taking both of the swings.
Re: Provocation of a Fluke (Bro/Karkat)
"You still want to learn? Or were you messing with me and actually know how? Because I can get off and push you" Bro stated
Re: Provocation of a Fluke (Bro/Karkat)
“You got me. I was just messing with you. What kind of stupid asshole doesn't know how to use something as primitive as a swing?" Karkat laughed weakly, kicking his feet wildly which only made his swing wiggle from side to side.
Re: Provocation of a Fluke (Bro/Karkat)
Bro snorted. "Like this" he stated, demonstrating for a minute before getting off. "I'll push you"
Re: Provocation of a Fluke (Bro/Karkat)
“Thanks,” Karkat muttered, eyeing the little girl whom had eagerly took over Bro's swing as soon as he got off it.
Re: Provocation of a Fluke (Bro/Karkat)
Bro got behind Karkat and grabbed the chains above his hands.
Re: Provocation of a Fluke (Bro/Karkat)
Karkat's grip tightened around the chains, tucking his heels back like Bro had shown him as he prepared to be pushed.
Re: Provocation of a Fluke (Bro/Karkat)
Bro pulled them back before letting them go and giving Karkat a gentle shove to his back.
Re: Provocation of a Fluke (Bro/Karkat)
Karkat stuck his legs out as he was pushed forward, drawing them in again as soon as he swung back towards Bro. This wasn't as bad as he thought, actually. Sure, he felt childish for going through with it, but he was glad he at least got to experience for himself, even if he was a couple of sweeps too old for this kind of thing.
Re: Provocation of a Fluke (Bro/Karkat)
Bro chuckled as he pushed him again. "Now all we need is a smile" he grinned.
Re: Provocation of a Fluke (Bro/Karkat)
Karkat glanced over his shoulder and gave Bro a smirk. "I'm not sure if I like this or not," he stated as he swung back close enough for Bro to hear him, having to wait until he came back again to continue, "Maybe you should push me higher?"
Re: Provocation of a Fluke (Bro/Karkat)
Bro pushed him harder, sending him higher. "How about now?" he grinned.
Re: Provocation of a Fluke (Bro/Karkat)
Karkat instinctively tucked his legs back in as he was sent even higher, startled, but excited. "Woah!"
Re: Provocation of a Fluke (Bro/Karkat)
"Hell yeah, this is fun!" Karkat declared to the sky as he reached the furthest limit gravity would allow them without letting the troll slip out of his seat.
Re: Provocation of a Fluke (Bro/Karkat)
"Language" Bro reminded with a chuckle as several moms glared at them.
Re: Provocation of a Fluke (Bro/Karkat)
Karkat looked confused. "Language? What, is 'fun' a bad word? Are you fuuu-riggin' serious?" Fun would be a bad word on this planet, wouldn't it? Karkat could actually feel himself become physically nauseous after censoring himself like an angry preteen boy armed with asterisks trying to convey just how upset he was over the last episode of Ben 10. It was as bad as listening to a minute worth of dial-tone as a comedian's (probably hilarious) joke was censored because, oh no, little Susie might get a potty mouth watching television she shouldn't be watching in the first place.
Re: Provocation of a Fluke (Bro/Karkat)
"No, but Aech Ea double hockey sticks is around these parts" Bro chuckled. "Just no swears so long as rug rats are around."
Re: Provocation of a Fluke (Bro/Karkat)
“What the hell is Aech Ea double hockey... Oh." Karkat frowned. “Why is that a bad word? If there are kids being taught to read the bible, they are going to come across that word at least a few hundred times."
Re: Provocation of a Fluke (Bro/Karkat)
"Yeah, but most parents don't want their kids sayin it. Which they will if they hear people say it in public." Bro explained with a chuckle.
Re: Provocation of a Fluke (Bro/Karkat)
"I just don't get it. It's a bad place, but it shouldn't be a bad word." Karkat shook his head. "Whatever, I'll try not to say it so we don't get kicked off the playground." Last thing he needed was a swarm of upset guardians with a zero tolerance level for swearing. Mr. Egbert was enough for him.
Re: Provocation of a Fluke (Bro/Karkat)
"Thanks" Bro chuckled. "I know its difficult to understand, I don't get it either."
Re: Provocation of a Fluke (Bro/Karkat)
After a few minutes, Karkat quit kicking his legs with the swing. "I think I am getting seasick. Air sick? I don't know, but I am sure that my first time experiencing a swing set is about over and I am very ready to feel the ground again."
Re: Provocation of a Fluke (Bro/Karkat)
Bro stopped pushing. "Then you have two options. You can hold out until the swing stops, or you can jump."
Re: Provocation of a Fluke (Bro/Karkat)
Karkat stared at the ground, urging himself to jump, but chickened out until the swing was moving slow enough for him to reach the tips of his shoes into the ground to halt the swing.
