Dave didn't say anything as he got Karkat's shirt off. He really hated seeing the other boy like this. Being sick that is. He'd rather see Karkat being his loud, snarky usual self. He helped him stand to get his pants. "I'll let you deal with the rest."

Karkat clung to Dave, the taller boy being the only thing keeping Karkat upright at the moment. He groaned, looking up at him weakly.

Dave felt his cheek getting hot. He wasn't blushing though. Cool kids don't blush or get flustered. "Dude, I'm not taking off your underwear."

Karkat groaned a little louder. He didn't want Dave to take his pants off either, but he also didn't want to land on his face. Mostly he just wanted help into the tub. "L-leave'm" he rasped, barely audible.

Dave didn't push the issue as he helped Karkat get into the tub and sit down. He didn't want to see him naked under these circumstances. The blonde grabbed his companions hand and pressed it to his cheek. "I'm sorry. I wish I would've found you sooner."

Karkat grunted and closed his eyes, sliding as far down into the warm water as he could with Dave holding his hand.

Neither of them said anything else for awhile. Jeff had been gone for only half an hour. Dave kept checking the time, then going back to sit with Karkat.

Karkat was starting to feel better the longer he sat in the warm water. His throat still felt raw and sore, as if he swallowed handfulls of glass, but he was starting to feel less cold, and his stomach was settling. He was feeling so much better in fact, that he was starting to doze a little.

Dave dipped his hand into the water. He was trying to keep himself awake. He noticed Karkat trying to keep himself awake. "Wanna go lay down in bed?"

Karkat nodded lazily. He would like that. It would be nice, and warm, and not wet.

Dave nodded as he unplugged the tub to let the water drain out. He grabbed a towel from the towel rack before helping Karkat stand up and wrapped it around him. He held the smaller boy bridal style. He'd have to walk a bit slower and be a bit careful, but he could do it. Instead of going to the living room, he went to his room. He placed Karkat on his bed before getting a large t-shirt and a pair of boxers. He helped get them on Karkat before placing him in his bed. He laid beside him and covered them both with a sheet. Jeff could give Karkat the medicine and deal with his bed when he got back.

Karkat curled into Dave, wriggling close to the comforting heat, and tucking his head under Dave's chin. He made a contented noise, shivering slightly.

Dave wrapped his arm around Karkat before kissing his forehead. It was another half hour before Jeff got back. Only Walmart was open this late and they only liquid medicine they had was kid medicine. He rolled his eyes when he noriced the sheets on the futon hadn't been changed. He looked into Dave's room and smiled at the two. It look like they were sleeping. Karkat would have to take the medicine in the morning. He crossed the room over to the bed. Thankfully neither boy took up much space. Being careful not to step on either he crawled over both and laid down by Karkat's other side. It was a tight fit, but it would work. He threw his arm over both the younger boys.

Karkat made a pleased noise at the additional weight and warmth, turning towards Bro. He didn't shiver this time, but he was still a little warm to the touch.

Dave scooted closer to Karkat and wrapped his arm around his waist. He opened one and looked over Karkat's shoulder. Why? Why did Jeff have to ruin everything for him?

Karkat gave a little cough, groaning softly and pressing back into Dave's chest.

Jeff yawned and moved closer to Karkat. He had already fallen asleep. Dave as still awake. He pressed his nose against Karkat's neck.

Karkat jerked away with a snort. Dave's nose tickled and he didn't like being tickled. He sought comfort in Bro's direction instead.

Dave was snarling now. He huffed and rolled over. Jeff did this on purpose, he knew he did. The older Strider always had to find some way to ruin his life.

Karkat sighed and his body relaxed as he drifted farther into dream land.

Dave woke up first the next morning. He didn't have class that day, but he didn't want to stay in bed either. When Jeff woke up Karkat was still sleeping. He pulled the younger boy closer to him and went back to sleep.

Karkat grunted, shoving Jeff's chest weakly. He was too hot now, and Bro's body heat was making it worse. He was starting to sweat and he was way too uncomfortable.

Jeff propped himself up on his eblow. He placed a kiss on the top of Karkat's head. "Mornin cutie. Feelin any better?"

Karkat grunted an affirmative and went about kicking the blankets off. "Hot" he rasped.

Jeff shoved the sheet down, so Karkat wasn't covered by it. He placed the back of his hand on the cancer's forehead. Slightly warm, but not very hot at least. "You need to take some medicine kiddo. Think you can swallow a pill or do you need the liquid?"
