Karkat followed him out, making sure to flip him the bird with a smirk before he stepped onto the elevator. Victory would be his.

The young Strider rolled his eyes, walking down the stairs. Throughout the whole day, Dave's mind was elsewhere. He wondered what type of fighting style Karkat had, and whether or not he was going to use weapons. He had to plan all of this out; he was going up against a different species after all.

Karkat's mind was in a similar state, though his thoughts were more around wether or not Dave was a close range fighter. More than likely close range, which made Karkat plan about how to take care of the speed difference.

Before they knew it, classes were out. Dave opened his closet door, digging behind things until he found his swords. With them in hand, as well as the studio key, he left his dorm. Just in case there was anyone out, he flash stepped the entire way there. He didn't want to be busted with weapons and have them confiscated. When he finally arrived, he unlocked the door and stepped inside,, turning on the lights. Shit, this place was ancient.

He closed the door behind him, looking around at the equipment a s he walked through. He found the stairs, walking up to the second level, then the third. He thought there was a fourth, but the door led him outside to the roof.

He glanced around, looking for any possible place to hide his swords, just in case Karkat didn't have weapons. He was an asshole, sure, but he was also a fair fighter.

Karkat had a little trouble finding the right building, and it made him nervous to be carrying around his sickles in his bag, but there was no safer place to hide the duel weapons. He arrived on the roof maybe an hour after Dave, looking smug. "I thought you would have chickened out" he admitted.

Dave had taken to sitting on the edge of the roof, staring out at the star filled sky. When he heard the troll, he gave a light chuckle and stood up. "Dave Strider never runs from a fight." He turned around to face him, hands in his pockets. "Especially one that he himself instigated."

Karkat pulled his sickles from his bag and tossed it aside, out of the way. "Then what are you waiting for? Fight"

Dave raised a brow, a light smirk coming to his face. "Weapons, hm?" He flash stepped over to an air conditioning unit that was elsewhere on the roof, pulling a sword out of its hiding place. "My kind of fighting." He got in his fighting stance, sword clutched in his right hand, held out to the side.

Karkat smirked and changed his stance. "What are you waiting for then? Show me how humans are superior to trolls like you so claim"

"You asked for it." With that, he vanished. Dave was always used to making the first move from his fights with Bro on the apartment roof. He was nothing but a blur, moving this way and that. He finally appeared above Karkat, swinging his blade down to strike.

Karkat raised one sickle, blocking the blade in the curve and jerking it to the side and away from his body while lashing out with the point of his other sickle. He had practiced long and hard to be strong and deft with his sickles with both hands. Strong enough to block and hold his ground, and strong enough to cut through muscle.

Dave retracted his blade, disappearing just moments before the sickle could pierce his flesh. He appeared right in front of him, a second blade in hand. Two blades against two blades was fair, right? Right. He narrowed his eyes, thrusting both forward to stab.

Karkat turned one sickle so he could swing and catch both blades in the curve while sidestepping and sweeping them away from his body, and also giving him room to swing the free sickle, this time at Dave's head. "Two weapons mean multiple part attacks, fuck ass. Its useless if you can only use them at the same time"

Dave ducked back, pulling a matrix before moving away via back flip. "Tell me something I don;t know, Vantas. I'm getting a feel for you." He commented, taking note on how sexual that might have sounded. All in the name of irony. He twirled his left blade, thinking of his next course of action based off of what he was analyzing about his fighting style. Mostly defense. He wondered what would happen if he could get him on the offensive.

"Sounds like you're just being a coward" Karkat smirked. "Come at me, do your best, but you'll never put a scratch on me. Your weapons may be longer, but that just gives me more room to menuver around them"

He gave a snort of amusement; this guy really had no clue who he was going up against. He vanished from sight, appearing behind him this time. Using one blade, he swung towards his legs, while the other attempted to slash from above.

Karkat turned and blocked with both of his sickles, moving closer to Dave while he had the blades locked together, keeping the swords safely away from his body. "I bet all you can do is swordplay. I bet hand to hand is completely beyond you. Humans are so soft"

Dave raised a brow, smirking cockily at the troll. "I only brought out my weapons because you did. My first intention was to fight you hand to hand." With that, he lunged forward, their foreheads connecting in a headbutt before Dave jumped back.

Karkat recoiled, dropping his sickles as he raised his hands to his forehead, in shock from the sneak attack. "FUCK!" he snarled in pain.

Karkat lunged, throwing a punch at Dave's face with a snarl. He was going to break those ridiculous shades if it was the last thing he did.

Dave moved back just in time to avoid a full blown hit, though Karkat's knuckle clipped his cheek. When he landed from his dodge, he pushed off, lunging forward and attempting to land a blow to knock him off balance.

Karkat shifted into the blow, leaning hard and throwing a punch of his own. His hope was that leaning into it would be enough to counter balance and throw the human off guard enough for his own punch to wind him.
