Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Tavros blushed, having only just gotten a vague lowdown on the Dave and Karkat situation so he was feeling especially nosy and perverted about discussing the other troll's hormones and genetic material levels openly. He would have avoided it all together otherwise, but this was Bro and if he wanted to know, well... okay. "Uhhh, he sounded like he was in pain and by the smell, um... it smells old, like it's been building up for more than a few hours."
He added teasingly, "He might need a smuppet soon. But, uh, seriously though, he could get a shameglobe infection if he doesn't take care of that in a couple of days." Genetic material built up in shameglobes like urine in a bladder; if it wasn't released soon, it could have some very harmful effects.

Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
"well, Dave has to work tomorrow morning, and so do I, so you'll be here alone with him." Bro stated. "As far as I can tell, he's a little chicken shit, so you don't have to worry about fighting, but, if you can wake him up and get that problem taken care of, that'd be great. Just tell him to take a shower or something." He turned the lights off and stripped to his boxers before laying down and pulling Tavros down next to him. "And since I know you'll probably be up when Dave leaves, remind him to check on Karkat's horn and to take the bandage off if it looks good."
Bro rolled onto his side, curling around the not so human and peppering his face with little kisses.

Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
"Sure thing." Tavros kissed Bro back sleepily, too tired to shed his own clothes off and just happy to be snuggling up to him again. He had a hard time falling asleep without Bro during his short-lived vacation. "What happened to Karkat's horn? Or is that, uhhh--" he yawned deeply. "--a long story?" Even if it was, he wouldn't mind drifting off to the sound of Bro's voice.
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
"Nah, Dave was just being a dumbass Karkat's first night here. Thought he was being an ass and not answering his questions, so he tried to rough house with him a little, ended up making him fall off the couch and banging his horn on the coffee table." Bro replied. "Had a hell of a time getting him to let him bandage it, then it got infected evidently, and he had to get him to chill long enough to cut the infection out. Which he did with my razor, which he dismantled since Karkat hid every fucking knife in the apartment."
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Tavros gave another yawn, his body shaking from the force of it. "Good thing he, um, was able to clean it though. Do you need me to get you a new razor or, uh, do you have another?" He asked, slipping his arm under Bro's.
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
"I have another, Don't worry. Its just a shitty disposable one anyway." Bro smiled into Tavros's mohawk. "Don't worry your pretty little head about anything. Its just time for bed" he cooed.

Karkat woke to Dave's alarm. He blinked drowsily at the foreign sound, raising his head off the pillow, but not making a sound himself.

Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Dave grunted into the pillow his face was partially mashed into, not wanting to get up for work right away. He couldn't even recall having set his alarm up in the first place, but clearly he must have since it was currently giving him a head ache with its absurdly boisterous shrilling and beeping. His arm closest to his nightstand reached over Karkat and he balled his hand into a fist, pounding it wearily upon the snooze button. "G'morning sunshine," he mumbled to the waking troll, plucking his shades off from beside the alarm and slipping them on.
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Karkat gave a small whine and put his head back down. He wanted to go back to sleep, but the alarm had given him a headache to go with the ache in his body.
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Dave shifted into a sitting position beside the troll before crawling over him and planting a kiss on his cheek, then promptly stepping off the bed towards the dresser. He pulled out some fresh clothes and was about to go change out in the bathroom before he glanced over at Karkat and reconsidered. Well, he would just be changing clothes, and it's not like he didn't intend to have Karkat see the rest of his body at some point. Besides, it would only take a moment. So, he slipped his shirt off and tossed it in the hamper, at least being modest enough to keep himself turned sideways from Karkat as he unzipped his pants and tugged them off to be replaced by a cleaner pair.
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Karkat may have been facing Dave, but he was very obviously trying to go back to sleep. His eyes were closed and he was clutching the blanket up under his chin, but his little toes peaked out from the edge.
He wasn't entirely sure why Dave was up so early, and he didn't care much for it. He also wasn't entirely sure how he had gotten into the bed since he had remembered falling asleep on the futon during a movie, but at least he was still in the clothes he had fallen asleep in.

Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Dave finished getting dressed in a flash, too early in the morning for him to want to attempt strip teasing for the weary troll. After tying up his laces, he shouldered his backpack and stepped back towards the bed, tilting his head and smiling softly at his sleepy companion. He reached down on the sheets near Karkat's feet and tugged them over his exposed toes before leaning over and giving him a peck on the cheek, muttering gently in his ear about how he would be back in a few hours.
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Karkat grumbled softly and pushed Dave's face away, rolling over and wrapping the blanket around himself tighter. Did Dave not get that he wanted to go back to sleep? One of them was meant to be nocturnal.
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
From what Dave could tell, Karkat was neither nocturnal nor diurnal; the troll just plain slept all the time. He still ruffled the troll's hair and glanced over at the horn with the bandage, carefully peeling it back and taking a peek at the wound to see how it was managing. It appeared that there was no lingering infection and the awful smell was replaced with skin and rubbing alcohol, which was a far better alternative than the former. At least the injury had sealed up, but the developing scab appeared to need some fresh air to avoid mold or a second coming of that horrid infection. So he slowly peeled it the rest of the way off and tossed it in his garbage on his way out into the living room, grabbing his bike helmet before taking off out of the apartment.
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Karkat dozed for maybe an hour before forcing himself to rise. If he wanted to be out of pain, then he needed to do this before Dave came back. He shuffled over to his bags, crouching down to ruffle through the bigger one. He pulled out some clean clothes, and a little plastic pail that had been tucked inside with a little red 'toy' hidden inside that. He shoved his clothes into the pail and shuffled out to the hall, clutching the bucket to his chest protectively.
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Tavros slept like a rock, not even noticing the shift of weight on the bed when Bro got up for work. His bunk mate's presence was replaced with several pillows and he clung to them as though they were Bro, nuzzling and mumbling incoherent gibberish. He didn't rise to the sound of the door to Dave's room opening and closing, but the scent of a troll nearby was enough to alarm him into wakefulness, looking over his shoulder in the direction of where the scent came from.
His eyebrows rose at the tell-tale rim and handle of the bucket Karkat was carrying towards the bathroom and he promptly looked away from the scene, pretending he didn't see that.

Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Karkat snuck to the bathroom, locking the door behind him. He dumped his clothes on the floor and stripped out of his dirty ones, turning on the water and hurrying under the spray with his pail and toy.
He was so full of genetic material he didn't even have to turn the vibrator on before he was on his knees over the bucket, keening as the horrible pressure was relieved in a flood of endorphins.
He cleaned the entire shower when he was done, then he dressed and walked out of the shower back to Dave's room to hide his bucket again. Once it was sufficiently hidden, he walked out to the living room, only to freeze in the doorway when he spotted Tavros.

Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Tavros had his back turned to Karkat, watching what was on tv which was, actually, he wasn't sure. He had only just turned on the television after a failed attempt to go back to sleep, but he had become nervous and wired up by the fact that another troll was up and about, so he was a lot less tempted to lay back down.
Now he wasn't comfortable, at all, with having Karkat gaping at the back of his head and he turned to the side, eyeing him with a tentative frown. "Um, hi Karkat," he mumbled, waving to him from the couch that was still flattened out as a bed. He kind of wanted to kick Karkat out of the apartment, get the other troll out of his area, but those were old instincts and while they were still there, urging him to lunge at the invader, he simply wasn't the kind of guy to, well, lunge at people. "Have a, good sleep?" He asked, trying to be pleasant.

Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Karkat nodded, trying to slowly back back down the hall to Dave's room. He was hungry, but not hungry enough to venture across such an open space with another troll there, especially since it was technically another troll's territory.
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Tavros continued to eye Karkat as the other troll stepped back into Dave's room, feeling the unyielding need to be more cautious around him. He could also tell that this was a mutual feeling, only that in Alternia, he would have had every right to tear Karkat apart for being just where he was. He only managed to survive with humans as room mates since they didn't intimate him in the slightest. In fact, they had a very non-threatening presence much like his lusus had, so he really didn't have much trouble adjusting to the new living situation when he moved to Earth.
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Karkat pushed Dave's swivel chair in front of the door once it was shut. He shoved one of his bean bag chairs under the desk, putting the second against the door too (like that would actually stop anyone from getting in). The third bean bag chair was put into place only when Karkat had climbed into the space left under the desk. He took his DS with him before tugging the last bean bag chair into the opening, sealing him in and out of sight.
There was no way he was gonna leave Dave's room now, Not with another troll there, and not when it was just the two of them. Now that he was empty of all his built up genetic material, he was less inclined to sleep through the discomfort, and more than wide awake. Since his plan had been to hide in an enclosed space that calmed him, he had no light to read by, so his only option was to pass the time with his DS and his copy of pokemon.

Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Tavros went out and grabbed lunch, finally deciding that it couldn't be so bad to leave Karkat in his home since nothing bad had happened to it thus far when the other troll was left there before. He returned an hour later with some left over chicken strips in a bag, sticking it in the fridge before resuming his seat on the futon to watch a bit more tv.
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Karkat got tired of his game after a while, pausing it to check the time. He didn't remember what time Dave was supposed to be back, and Bro didn't normally get back until seven or so, and there was no way in hell he was leaving that room until one of them got there. He would wait all night if he had to.
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
It was around one by the time Dave got back and Tavros had refused to leave the living room until someone else returned to keep an eye on the other troll. Admittedly, Tavros was rather relieved to see Dave and waved excitedly at him from where he was sitting on the couch, reading from a magazine while the tv was set to something on the news. "Hey Dave."
Dave nodded at Tavros, looking around the living room for any signs of Karkat. "Sup, Tavbro," he replied, not really waiting for an answer as he was already heading towards his room to make sure the other troll was still there in one piece. When he pushed the door forward, he could feel the weight of his computer chair against it along with something else, but luckily it had wheels so it wasn't much of a barricade really. He stepped inside and set his bike helmet on his dresser, wondering where Karkat was since he hadn't spot him yet.

Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Karkat stiffened when he heard the door open. Since he was enclosed under the desk, he couldn't see or smell who was entering Dave's room, so he pressed himself against the wall. He didn't even know what time it was or when he was supposed to expect Dave back.
Re: Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)
Dave tilted severely to the side and lifted the edge of his bed cover to peek under the bed for any signs of Karkat. "You seen Karkat any where?" He called back to Tavros from his room, starting to get a little uneasy.
"Um, a few hours ago, he went in your room. Haven't seen him since," Tavros answered, glancing over his shoulder in the direction of Dave's room.
