Karkat nodded and gave his hand a little squeeze. He was starting to really like being around Dave, when the man had the decency to behave. It felt a little weird to be thinking about him as a man, but he was older than Karkat by almost a year if John was correct with his math.

Once they were at the front doors to the theater with the sign 'Bridesmaids' highlighted over it, Dave opened one of the doors for Karkat to walk through first because he'll be damned if he doesn't try to be a gentleman. Not like he's any sort of black and white picture show bachelor attempting to impress a lady with all of his old fashioned, suave courtesy, but it couldn't hurt to flatter the troll with a bit of extra attention, right?

Karkat stepped in and tugged Dave in the door way with him. He couldn't see well in the dark with the sunglasses on, and he was scared to take them off until they were seated, lest someone glimpse his eyes.

Dave guided them over to the middle seats in the back where they would have the most privacy and wouldn't be surrounded completely by middle aged mothers and their daughters who were surely going to grace the theater with their abundant presence. He propped his feet up on the empty seat in front of him and started opening his box of candy, his shades flashing the bright and thunderous previews echoing off the movie screen.

Karkat put his candy and drink in his lap before drawing his knees to his chest and leaning on Dave's shoulder, just a little. He opened his cotton candy and tore off a little piece to pop in his mouth. The pure sugary taste made him smile, and lean more of Dave's shoulder. He offered the plastic container to Dave, offering him some.

Dave swallowed the black licorice candy pieces already in his mouth before accepting the container and tugging at a small tuft of cotton candy. He popped this in his mouth and savored its brief sugary life as it hastily dissolved on his tongue, flashing a smile at Karkat. He wrapped an arm around the troll, placing his box of candy in the cup holder at the end of the arm rest between them.

Karkat smiled softly and slipped his glasses off so he could see the screen clearly.

The movie was great in Karkat's opinion, besides the questionable beginning. Well it was rated R for a reason, but still. He ended up clinging to Dave's arm and crying a little bit for the girl, but not enough to smudge his make up.

When it was over, he kept holding on to Dave, smiling like an idot.

Dave had given Karkat a weird look when the troll had started crying on him over something so sappy, but got over it since it was a good enough excuse to rub his shoulder and lean in closer to him. "I take it you liked the movie?" He asked in Karkat's ear since it was kind of hard to hear him otherwise what with the credits having background music a notch too loud.

Karkat nodded, shifting to let go of Dave and roll up his half empty pack of gummy worms and put the lid on his cotton candy and shoved them both in his pockets. He stifled a yawn and moved to stand, stretching with a cute little noise.

Dave grinned internally at the sound Karkat made, wanting to call him out on being too adorable for words, but figured it would just land him with a slightly annoyed troll for the rest of the evening if he did. He plucked his half empty box of candy from the cup holder and nudged Karkat along the aisle until they were out the door. "I'm glad you liked it then," he said finally as they headed towards the exit, folding the box in half and shoving it in his pocket so that it would fit better. He slowed down his pace and tapped Karkat on his shoulder, pointing back with his thumb, "Hold on, I've gotta take a leak."

Karkat nodded obediently and leaned against the wall by the bathrooms. He didn't really want Dave to leave him, but he also really REALLY didn't want to go into that bathroom. Public bathrooms were so weird.

Dave had been half hoping that the troll would follow him in there, yet at the same time, what was so great about watching a guy piss in a urinal in a smelly bathroom? He had really wanted to get Karkat in the bathroom so he could flash him with some human dick while he nonchalantly voided his bladder, but he guessed that would have to wait for another time. No need to start attacking the troll's subconscious with images of your cock, Dave.

When he was finished, he washed up and came back out, slipping Karkat's hand into his, stating in the most ironically cheesy way he could, "Let's blow this popsicle stand."

Karkat nodded and let Dave lead him back home. Er, not home, the apartment. He was too tired to think straight and all he really wanted was to shower and curl up in Dave's bed to go to sleep. Maybe just for a nap, then have some dinner, but he was definately going back to sleep after dinner food.

Dave locked the door behind them once they were situated back in the apartment, yawning deeply as he slumped his back against the door's frame. "Hey, I'm probably just gonna head off to bed; all of that sugar pretty much murdered my appetite," he muttered, moving away from the door and towards the bathroom to brush his teeth. He turned back to Karkat, adding, "If you're still hungry, there's some of that Chinese food in the fridge. And also ice cream, if you don't really feel like having left overs." It's not like anyone in the Strider household minded over whether or not people ate something healthy before moving on to dessert, so ice cream for dinner wasn't really considered to be a big deal.

Karkat stared after Dave for a minute before giving a little sigh and getting his pyjamas and a pair of boxers from Dave's room, and following him into the bathroom. He didn't want to be left awake by himself in the apartment by himself, so he figured he may as well shower now and be done with it for the night.

Dave started brushing his teeth, glancing over at Karkat and stopping when he noticed him there. "Did you need the bathroom for something?"

Karkat nodded, showing him the bundle of clothes in his arms and pointing to the shower. Sleeping in the make up tended to itch a little bit, and it definitely made Karkat a cranky little troll.

Dave finished up brushing and gave Karkat the thumbs up that he was free to use the bathroom as he pleased now that he was done with it. He headed back into his room and began changing into a large t-shirt and boxers that were probably hand-me-downs from his brother.

Karkat hurried;y showered, it only took him five minutes to get in and wash all the make up off. He toweled off, got dressed and carried his dirty clothes with him back to Dave's room, to drop them by his bag. He yawned widely, pushing his damp hair out of his face again.

Dave was already in bed by the time Karkat came in, his back facing the troll with his bed cover draped over his shoulder. When he heard Karkat enter the room, he turned over a bit slowly and patted the empty space beside him in the bed. Even though the bed was rather dinky and Dave was the appropriate size for a young adult male, he didn't mind the invasion of personal space so long as it was Karkat who was invading it.

Karkat hesitated only a moment before crawling into bed with Dave, curling against him and tucking his head under Dave's chin with a sleepy little noise. He shifted and tugged the blanket up to his chin, reaching over Dave to grab his lusus doll from where it was shoved against the wall from earlier.

Dave helped Karkat reach his doll by picking it up from behind and tucking it between them, mumbling a sleepy, "There you go." He nestled up against the troll, not minding Karkat's damp hair under his chin and against his throat as he slipped a bare arm over his back.

Karkat made a small noise of contentment, cuddling closer to him. He let out a sigh, and dropped off easily, listening to Dave's heartbeat.

Dave wasn't able to drift off quite as easily and his heart beat began to race as he became rapidly aware of how close their crotches were. No. He needed to stop thinking like that. It seemed like each time they got close, his mind went in the gutter and started focusing on that tentacle between Karkat's legs. It was way too early to start trying to get inside the troll's pants. It's not even like Karkat really knew that he had those kinds of feelings for him yet. He shouldn't press them on the guy, he probably had enough shit to deal with.

Well, he could always go for subtlety. Dave shifted a bit so that it seemed like he was just trying to situate himself into a more comfortable position, grinding roughly on Karkat in the process. This was so pathetic, he thought to himself as he kept them at a much slower grind, shifting his back every now and then so that it still appeared as though he was just trying to get comfy. His hips were just really uncomfortable was all. Yeeeeah.

Karkat let out a soft whimper, curling more and shifting his hips away from Dave's in the process. He huggled his doll closer before rolling over to his back was to Dave.
