Karkat let out a surprised chirp, a tremor running through his body before going limp. This time it was much different than the relaxed state he had been in, forcing himself to be limp; this was almost like he was a corpse now, his body had no will of its own, just like when Dave had done this before when he had tried to bandage Karkat's horn the first night.

As soon as the troll had lost consciousness, Dave untangled his legs and hooked his arms under Karkat's arm pits, scooting himself up into a stooped forward standing position. He hoisted the troll up bridal style and carried him into the bathroom, placing him on the floor of the shower since the Striders did not own a tub. The inanimate body was put into position with his back to the ground and his head beside the shower drain. If this was going to be as messy as John said it would be, he figured it couldn't hurt to strip Karkat down while he was at it, figuring that it couldn't help any if he ruined the troll's clothes. Yeah. That was definitely all Dave was thinking about as he carefully slid the troll's shirt over his head and tossed it on the toilet lid.

He left the bathroom in search of a knife, only to discover that none were to be found. Jegus Christ. The little shit had hid them or tossed them or had teleported them into another God damn dimension for all he knew because there sure as fuck were nowhere to be found as he scrounged around the apartment. The katanas in the freezer: all gone. The shitty swords littered around the house: not one in sight. The drawer of extra back up kitchen knives: Not a single knife for strife.

Dave returned to the bathroom with the first aid kit, setting it beside Karkat's head and standing back up, trying to remain calm. He didn't know how long he had before the troll would wake up again so running to the store to buy a knife wasn't really an option unless he tied Karkat up, but that was not the Strider way. Fuck. His eyes slid over to the bathroom sink and his eyebrows rose.

Bro's razor.

Not a moment was spared as Dave ran into his room and acquired a miniature screw driver from his assortment of junk in his desk drawer and came back to attack Bro's razor. He dropped it on the floor and dug the heel of his shoe into the safety plastic on the back, snapping the head off and sitting down to unfasten the screwed down blades. He removed one of the thin, rectangular blades and placed the others on the sink's counter before coming back to the troll's side and getting things set up.

He got out the rubbing alcohol from before and soaked an entire cloth with it rather than just a dab like last time and unpacked a thick bandage that would fit more precisely around the injury. Dave leaned forward, the razor actually shaking in his hand as he prodded at the tip of the white infection. Taking a deep, relaxing breath, Dave held Karkat's hair away with one hand before finally sinking an edge of the razor into the puss, carefully dragging it down along the side of the scab to pick the crust away.

Karkat's eyes flickered sluggishly before slowly opening. A soft, nearly unheard keen came from his barely parted lips, but he couldn't move anything more than his eyes, which were glazed over as if he were half asleep.

The hand Dave was using to part Karkat's hair slid over to the other horn he wasn't operating on and massaged the base with his thumb, wanting to make sure that the troll remained in his trance-like state while he fixed him up. It would be in neither of their best interests for something to go wrong while Dave had a razor blade picking at Karkat's scab. Once the crusted layer of skin was peeled away, Dave was able to get a good look at the damage the infection had done so far, which wasn't as bad as he had expected. The really bad thing at that moment was how much blood had started pouring out of the troll's head the instant the scab was removed.

It had started out as a few, steady trickles before suddenly becoming a full fledged stream of bodily fluid. Dave grabbed the soaked cloth from before and applied pressure to the area with the heaviest flow, really starting to grope at the unbloodied horn in fear of Karkat breaking out of this haze. No, not in fear. Striders don't show fear. He wasn't panicking, even if that was a lot of blood-- John said that there would be. Dave had anticipated this, but it didn't mean it wasn't making him worry all the same as he hurriedly swabbed away at the puss and soaked another cloth in antiseptic to hold down the flood gates.

Another little noise escaped Karkat's lips, though this one was closer to a purr than a keen. The prolonged contact to his horn was making him feel warm, especially in his stomach.

There was some relief in Dave's ministrations when he heard Karkat purring, encouraging him to keep massaging the horn while his other hand put away the razor and swiped more of the infection off. He kept cleaning the profusely bleeding injury until there was no more green and white in sight, constantly soaking a fresh cloth as each became too soiled to cleanse properly. As Dave pressed what he hoped would be the last cloth he would have to apply to the wound, he looked over at where all the blood was pooled behind and along Karkat's head and into the drain, regretting it instantly. He wasn't squeamish so much as being given even more reason to ~~worry~~ show a moderate amount of concern for the troll's well being. He found himself petting Karkat's head not only as a way to keep the troll calm, but himself as well.

Karkat's purring deepened as the heat in his stomach intensified. In his hazed state of mind, he couldn't really comprehend what was going on around him other than Dave's hand on his horn, not really registering that it was Dave at all. His bulge was starting to writhe around in its sheath, but it was another thing that was just beyond his comprehension.

Dave held the cloth in place and gently kept caressing Karkat's horn as he waited for the blood to settle back on its course inside the troll's head. After he felt that enough time had passed, he lifted the cloth carefully and checked before putting it back again. It was going to take a little while longer for this to stop bleeding.

Karkat's eyes blinked liturgically, his hips twitching gently as his bulge slowly unsheathed itself and pressed against the confines of his boxers.

Dave finally was able to remove the cloth and pulled his hand away from Karkat's feel good horn to seal the wound with the bandage he had picked out, pressing it gently into position. Pulling his eyes away from the band aide, Dave got busy wiping off the blood that had managed to trail against the back of Karkat's shoulders and neck. Then something in the corner of his eye moved. Dave paused in mid-wipe, looking over to where he thought he had seen the movement come from: Karkat's pants. He waited to see something move again before he would come to any conclusions or just shrug it off as ~~wishful thinking to look at the troll's crotch~~ a trick in the bathroom's poor lighting fixture.

Speaking of blood, quite a bit of it was draining from Dave's face when he saw something prodding from beneath the confines of Karkat's pants at groin level. Oh sweet lord. Dave stared horrified at the unidentifiable intrusion, reminding him of the time a rat crawled up his leg and Bro had given it enough of an excuse to start smacking at his brother below the waist line with a mop handle. If it was a rat, it could very likely be gnawing on alien genitals that he had no intention of having to put band aides on as well. So this meant he should act quickly to get whatever was poking around inside there out before it made his life even more of a living Hell.

Dave scooted over to the lower end of Karkat, unbuttoning his pants and tugging his fly down. He swallowed dryly, glancing back to Karkat's face to make sure he was still under.

Karkat's eyes were still very much glazed, but his purring had slowed greatly since Dave had released his horn. His bulge wasn't deterred though, it was if anything more insistent.

Ok. At the count of three, Dave was going to tug Karkat's pants and boxers down, grab the rat/insect/whatever the fuck was moving around down there, and pry it off as fast as he could.

Dave stopped holding back and roughly pulled the clothes down passed the troll's hips, exposing the culprit and firmly trying to yank it away only to find that his hand met something phallic and slippery and very much connected to Karkat when he tugged. His hand shot back into the air in surprise and he stared with his mouth slightly agape at what was most definitely not a rodent or insect.

Karkat's bulge tried to wrap itself around Dave's hand when it was touched, then around itself when Dave's hand was pulled away. Karkat let out a soft keen, and slowly, still writhing around itself, Karkat's bulge receded back behind the bony sheath that was the cause for its name. The bulge itself was the same color as Karkat's blood.

Behind Dave's shades, his eyes widened as he watched the wiggling, alien genital reside back inside the troll's body, listening to his brain resemble the sounds of Rice Crispies drowned in milk. It looked like he had his answer for what troll junk looked like. Yup. That's all that came to him as he slowly pulled Karkat's underwear back up followed by his pants that Dave refastened with trembling fingers. In silent mortification, when he tried pulling the zipper back up, he realized that the hand that had touched the bulge had a thin layer of transparent slime on it as his fingers slipped off the metal lever.

Shitshitshitshitshit. He wiped his hand off on the side of his shirt and went back to cleaning up the mess around Karkat's head, his eyes still wide with the scene that had unfolded in front of him while the rest of his face was emotionless. He cleaned off the rest of the blood that had gotten on Karkat with a towel he rinsed in the sink before putting his shirt back on and carrying him back to his room. The troll was placed on his bed since he didn't feel like setting up all of Karkat's bean bags and went back into the bathroom, turning on the shower to wash away the blood.

Even though the haze was fading now, Karkat was still out of it long enough to close his eyes and let himself drift off. When he regained movement, he rolled onto his side and curled into the fetal position.

Lately, Dave seemed to be doing a lot of washing. Not that he really minded since it was something of a relief as of that moment because it kept his hands busy which helped keep troll dick off his brain. He tossed away the bloodied cloths and put the first aid kit back in its place beneath the sink, taking note to let Bro know about the infection before he reached the bathroom this time. No need to get attacked for performing medical attention, right?

When he was satisfied that the bathroom was in a condition that wouldn't make Bro want to punch him in the head more than usual, he withdrew back into the living room, unwinding himself on the futon with worn sigh. With an exhausted hand, he turned on the tv to the news, discovering that the time was almost seven. He had been cleaning like a regular housewife for about six hours straight. That college semester Bro had promised him had better have been worth all of this trouble.

Karkat woke almost at seven exactly. He wrapped Dave's blanket around him and shuffled out to stand by the couch. He gave Dave a half apologetic, half annoyed look and chirped before just laying down on top of Dave, with his head nuzzling into Dave's chest. He just wanted the contact, if Dave so much as twitched toward his horns, he was gonna bite him.

For the sake of not appearing completely freaked out when Karkat reentered the room, Dave went into autopilot as the troll laid down on top of him, draping an arm over Karkat's side so that it seemed like he was totally alright with this. Lazily, he watched an anchor man talk about something he was not registering because his thoughts were a million miles away. He touched this guy's freaky, alien dick a few hours ago and he had no idea if Karkat even realized that he had done it or if he was just being cuddly all of a sudden as an apology to being such a brat earlier. There was a boisterous pink elephant trumpeting and stomping in the room and he was the only one seeing it.

Bro walked in the door a few minutes later. "Sorry I'm late, got into a lengthy conversation with Rob about Karkat's eating habits while trying to decide what to get for dinner. So I got chinese. Shrimp fried rice for the squi-" by this point he had stopped and was staring at the two on the couch. "Well don't we look comfortable."

Karkat gave a lazy chirp in response.

Dave didn't pull his eyes off the TV when Bro came in, simply half way lifting the hand he had over Karkat in the form of a tired wave to his guardian. "Yeah, Karkat had an infection. I took care of it though. He's probably exhausted from the blood loss." Nothing to see here in Strider code.

He shifted off of Karkat casually and sat up, facing Bro, "So what'd you get me?"

Karkat growled as he was shifted, but quieted when his head fell into Dave's lap.

"You did? I'll take a look at it after dinner then. And I got that shit you usually order." Bro replied, handing two boxes down to Dave. "Make sure he doesn't choke." Bro sat in front of the couch with the remaining box, ninjaing the remote from Dave and flipping the channel to something random.

Dave placed the Chinese food on the table before scooting sideways along the couch to get Karkat's head off his lap and leave for the kitchen, coming back with three forks. He offered one to Bro and one to Karkat before re-seating himself as far away from the troll as possible on the futon, picking up a box and digging in.

Karkat glared at Dave for moving him then not letting him lay on him some more. He sat up and slouched, picking at his food, but eating less than half. He put what was left on the coffee table right as Bro put his empty box and turned around.

"Okay, let's see that horn."

Karkat growled and sat up straight, out of Bro's reach.

Bro raised a brow. "I just want to see if Dave did a good job cleaning it" He stood up and leaned over the troll, only to find a sickle point at his adams apple. Quick as a flash, he countered it with his sword. "Not cool, short stack."
