Re: There's No Such Thing As Too Much Love (Dave/Cal/Bro)
Cal led the way in, immediately turning for the sunglasses tree. He browsed the selection for a moment before choosing a pair with thin red wire frames and mirrored oval lenses. He took a quick trip through the u-scans to buy them and grab a basket before leading the way back to the meat section.
He felt just awful now, and what made it worse is that Cal knew Dave was just trying to cheer him up. "So, Do you want anything for desert?" He asked, trying to make amends.

The young Strider watched as Cal made his selection, a voice in the back of his mind saying it was a good choice. At the question, Dave gave a light shake of his head as he idly gazed at the meat spread out. "I'm not all that fond of sweets anymore...Egderp's dad made sure of that last time I visited him." he said, giving a light and barely noticeable shudder at the memory of the endless cakes. So much frosting and sugar, it could kill someone.
"Why? Did you have something in mind?"

"No, just asking." Cal replied, picking up a package of meat to look at it. Finding it satisfactory, he put it in his basket. "Well, what kind of hamburger helper do you want?"
Re: There's No Such Thing As Too Much Love (Dave/Cal/Bro)
Dave was silent, contemplating which one he wanted. He was in the mood for something Mexican, which made his choice easy. "Cheesy Enchilada." he said, looking at him.

Cal nodded slightly, making his way to the boxed dinners isle and picking up two boxes of the stuff. "Anything else while we're here? Need more cereal? Milk?"
Re: There's No Such Thing As Too Much Love (Dave/Cal/Bro)
The corner of Dave's mouth gave a small twitch as he thought about anything they might need. "I...think we're almost out of milk." he said, still sort of lost in thought.

Cal nodded, starting over to the back corner where the dairy was. "Anything else? I know I got everything that your Bro needed when I came the other day, but I didn't have a chance to ask you if you needed anything."
Re: There's No Such Thing As Too Much Love (Dave/Cal/Bro)
He shook his head as they walked. "I'm not really specific on things. I basically eat whatever is around the house. I'm not picky." He said, giving Cal a glance with a raised brow. "I figured you would have caught on to that by now."

"And yet the carrot sticks have been in there almost two months." Cal replied. "I already know Bro won't eat his vegetables. You gonna end up the same way?"
He reached the refrigerators and pulled out a gallon of milk. "I do try and get you all the nutrients a growing boy needs."

"We had carrot sticks?" he asked, blinking. He didn't know they had any. "Nah, I eat healthy shit too...You make sure of that. I'm sure he does too, but maybe eating healthy things isn't ironic enough for him." He said, giving a light shrug. He looked over the stuff in their basket. "I think that's good for now."

Cal nodded and headed to the check out. It was only a few minutes until they were back out at the car, loading Groceries into the backseat of Cal's car. "You can drive back too. You need the practice all you can get it since Bro won't let you drive his car." Cal Climbed in the passenger seat and closed the door with a snap.
Re: There's No Such Thing As Too Much Love (Dave/Cal/Bro)
Dave nodded, opening the drivers seat and sliding in, closing the door behind him. He buckled up before starting the car, lest Cal nag him about driving safety. He backed out of the parking spot and pulled off. He kept his eyes locked on the road, his index finger idly tapping the steering wheel, but not to the beat of the song that was playing. He was silent, creating a new beat in his mind, his mixing skills kicking in.

About half way home, Cal looked over at Dave, the mirrored lenses of his new shades glittering slightly. "Dave, can I stay in your room with you tonight? I..." He bit his lip lightly, worrying it between his teeth. "I don't feel like forgiving Bro just yet, and I don't want to have to fend him off tonight."
Re: There's No Such Thing As Too Much Love (Dave/Cal/Bro)
Dave was broken out of his thoughts, giving a quick glance to the other before returning them to the road. "Sure, that's fine..." he said. He figured Cal wasn't going to let this go that easily, and he knew Bro wouldn't either. In fact, he was awaiting the strife he would be dragged into at some point tonight as payback for stopping Bro from having his way with Cal. Couldn't they have one normal night together??
It wouldn't be long before Dave pulled into their spot in the parking lot, killing the engine.

Cal got out and grabbed the groceries, leading the way back to the apartment.
Bro was leaning against the back of the couch with his arms crossed waiting for them. He raised a brow when he saw Cal's shades, which definitely weren't the ones that Cal usually wore with his poker face. "What happened to your shades?" he asked, a touch of annoyance in his voice.
"I threw them out the car window." Cal lied in deadpan, walking past Bro into the kitchen.
"You what"

Dave followed up the steps the previous beat from before repeating over and over in his mind. He knew he would have to actually create this masterpiece rebounding in his mind. Maybe he would give it to Cal to take to the kids. He wondered if that would help Cal cheer up a little more.
He was just zoning into his surroundings when he heard Bro speak. Oh great. He sighed, hanging the keys back up on the hook before kicking off his shoes, following the middle Strider up the stairs and into the kitchen to help him put things away and to help him cook. Or rather, stay around him in case Bro tried something funny.

"You heard me." Cal replied, his voice perfectly level. Cal was normally a bad liar, but once his pokerface was on he could fool even the best lie detector. "I threw them out the window. I did not want them anymore."
Bro followed him closely. "What the fuck, Cal? We got our shades together, to fucking match! Why the fuck would you do that after how long we've been together?!" he demanded.
"It has been a long time hasn't it... We grew up together with those shades. Well, at least I did." Cal turned from putting the milk in the fridge. "What happened to growing up, Brodrick?"
Bro growled, whirling around to face Dave. "You. Fucking roof. Now. Strife."
"Dave, stay." Cal stated.

Dave stood by Cal, staring at the far wall as he pretended not to be listening. He had to keep himself from smirking when Cal made that comment. He could understand what he meant,, considering how Bro was a big baby sometimes.
He internally tensed when Bro spoke to him now, his gaze lifting to meet Bro's. He was about to say something until Cal told him to stay. He closed his mouth and shifted his weight, staying rooted to the spot.

Bro turned his gaze at Cal, his brow furrowed angrily. "Dave, get your fucking ass to the roof."
"No. Leave him out of this." Cal stated, stepping up to Bro. "If you want to Strife, Strife me. You have no reason to drag him into this, he didn't do anything."
Bro's brow furrowed more and he turned on his heel and stormed out, slamming the front door behind him.
Cal turned back to the counter and started getting out the pans he needed for dinner. "Sit, Dave. Please."

He watched as the eldest Strider stormed off in a huff, shaking his head after he heard the door slam. He looked at Cal after he spoke, walking over to stand beside him. "I want to help." he stated simply. He didn't feel like sitting around while Cal did all the work, like he usually did. After learning some things about the other he previously didn't, he felt closer to him. There was a new air of respect for Cal, as if the level of respect wasn't high already.

Cal set the pan he had gotten out on the cold stove before simply turning to Dave, tucking his head under his chin and holding the front of his shirt tightly. He was shaking slightly as he nuzzled Dave's clavicle, just needing to be held for a minute. He'd never spoken to Bro like that before, and Bro's reaction had honestly scared him a little.
Re: There's No Such Thing As Too Much Love (Dave/Cal/Bro)
Dave was startled when he found the other lightly clinging to his shirt and nuzzling him. Slowly though, he slipped his arms around the shorter male, pulling him closer into a hug. He could feel the warmth from the other and he noted absentmindedly at how nice it felt. He generally didn't let others touch him in such a way, or at least, not for long. He gently rubbed at Cal's back, hoping to comfort him and provide him with reassurance.

"Thanks" Cal whispered. "Thanks for helping me out today." His quivering slowed to a stop and he finally pulled away to turn on the stove and open the meat. He wasn't sure when Bro would be back tonight; if he would be back tonight.
Re: There's No Such Thing As Too Much Love (Dave/Cal/Bro)
"It was no problem, dude..." he said as the other released his grip. He wasn't exactly sure what to do, so he leaned against the counter instruction, watching his actions and waiting for any form of instruction.

Cal dumped the meat, all 2 pounds of it, into the pan and handed Dave a wooden spoon. "Brown that." he stated, turning to raid the cabinets to find something to make with the hamburger helper.
