"Come on you little shits! We're gonna be late!" Jeff yelled.

Cal stepped out of his room, still adjusting his bowtie and sweatervest. "They're getting ready, be patient."

"I ain't gonna stand fer bein late, specially with Rhonda and Robbie." Jeff growled in warning. "Dick an' Jo will be there by the time you get your sorry asses out here."

Dirk was still sitting at the desk in the room he shared with Dave, almost absently petting and coddling a yellow smuppet, a light blue and mottled blue sitting side by side in front of him on the desk. He wasn't wearing a shirt, and his nice jeans were still unbuttoned. "I don't see why we have to go" he mumbled to Dave.

Dave shrugged before slipping his shirt on. "Jeff said these are his friends and he's known them since middle school. Wants to be part of the group or something." He shrugged again. "I don't care. No one here likes me anyway. I doubt the snotty rich kids of his friends will like me either. Probably already know me as the school slut."

Dirk shrugged, finally setting the smuppet with its brethren and standing to grab his own shirt from off his bed and slipping it on. He slowly buttoned it up before zipping his pants and sliding his shades on. "Let's get this over with."

"If the two of you aren't out here in the next five minutes you're both grounded!" Jeff called

Dave grabbed his phone before quickly going to the living room.

Dirk followed him out.

"Its about Damn time" Jeff grumbled. "Come on, let's go."

Cal opened the door for everyone with a smile.

It wasn't a very long drive, but it was tense. It was tense right up until Jeff lead them up the path to the big house and knocked on the front door.

The door was quickly flung open by a tall, slender, blonde woman. "JEFFREY!" Her arm were around him instantly. "I missed you so much!"

Dave was hiding by Jeff as he looked into the house.

"Jeeze Rhon, you saw me not that long ago when you invited me" Jeff replied, even though he was grinning broadly. "I even brought everyone just like I promised"

Dirk was hanging back behind Dave.

Cal was right next to Jeff. "Hello!" he chirped

Rhonda kiss his cheek leaving a rather large, black lip mark. "You haven't been here for years. I've missed you so much."

"We still skyped" Jeff pointed out. "Dick and Jo here yet?" he asked

"Your sister is in the den. Has already latched onto Josh. Dick said he will be here in twenty minutes."

"Great" Jeff smiled. "Let me introduce you to everyone." he stepped slightly to the side. "This is Cal, a family friend. He came up with us from Texas. And you remember the boys, they haven't changed much. Dirk still never talks and Dave still rarely shuts up."

Rhonda smiled at the twins. "You two have gotten so big. You were just babies when I saw you last."

"They're still big babies" Jeff teased.

Cal swatted his side. "Stop showing off"

Jeff snorted. "Cal is pretty much the mom of our little family here"

Rhonda held out a hand out towards Cal. "It's a pleasure to meet you."

Cal took her hand and shook it. "Its a pleasure to finally meet you, Miss Rhonda. Jeff's told me a lot about you"

She smiled at him and giggled. "I hope they were all good things." She kissed Jeff's cheek again. "I need to get back to the kitchen. Robert is waiting for me. Your sister and Josh are watching football in the den."

"Where should the boys go?" Jeff asked.

"I can help in the kitchen" Cal offered with a smile.

Dirk took his hands from his pockets and crossed his arms uncomfortably.

"The other kids are in the basement, playing games. They should go meet them." She smiled at Cal again. "Everything is covered in the kitchen. Thank you though."

"Are you sure? I may be small But I'm pretty useful" Cal smiled.

Jeff Gestured at the boys to go on inside.

Dave took Dirk's hand, gently leading him inside. Rhonda laughed as she reached over to ruffle Cal's hair. "You are such a sweetie. I like you. Alright, I'm sure I can find something for you to help with." She looked back at Jeff. "Why don't you check on Jo and Josh. I'm not sure how well he is reciprocating her feelings."

"I can do that." Jeff grinned, going in after the boys.

Cal giggled. "I'll follow you to the kitchen"

Rhonda turned to go back inside. "Tell me about yourself Cal. Dick has told me a bit about you but just about how cute you are."

"Well, I'm a nurse. I work for a pediatrician up here, but in Texas I worked at our local Hospital. I actually lived not that far from Jeff and the boys when they first moved down. I was in high school back then."

Dirk let Dave lead him, shoving his non occupied hand back in its corresponding Pocket.

Jeff walked past them towards the Den. Only to stop in the doorway and take in the sight.

Dave as silent as he lead Dirk down the basement stairs.

Rhonda nodded to show that she was listening. "He did also tell me you were a nurse. That's quite a good paying job. Are you looking for a job up here by chance?"

"Not anymore. I was hired on earlier this week, but I mean, If a better opportunity were to come up, I don't think the doctor would mind. I just don't want to work at a hospital anymore. Bad hours. Good Pay, but someone really ought to be with the boys when Jeff can't be" Cal replied
