Dave could feel his cheeks heating up as he sat. "Oh. I didn't know that."

"its quite all right" Jake smiled as he gently pushed the chair in. "Just let me treat you for the moment" He crossed to the other side and sat down before picking up his menu. "Order anything you'd like" he grinned "I'm paying"

Dave was hoping his cheeks were paling. This was so embarrassing. Even Jake knew more about dating than him. He pulled his menu over, flipping it open on the table. Red eyes widened as he scanned the options and prices. "This is really expensive Jake. Are you sure this is okay?"

Everything sounded so fancy. Dave was looking at everything on the menu. All of it sounded great. "What do you like from here?"

"Personally I enjoy their steaks. Everything is fresh, they get all their meat from the butcher's in town so nothing is frozen. Same with their vegetables, it all comes from the local area farmers and they don't freeze anything." Jake explained. "Their pasta isn't that bad, though I'm not much of a pasta person, and I can't really vouch for any of their seafood, though their salmon and fish always smell divine when they bake them."

Dave nodded as he scanned the menu again. It didn't take long to decide what he wanted. "Can I get the roasted duck with orange sauce?"

"By all means, if you want the duck, get the duck" Jake smiled "I was just letting you know so you wouldn't be surprised when it came. It also comes with two sides, so you'll have plenty to take home, really, and I promise price isn't an issue"

"If you insist it's alright. I guess I'll have roasted potatoes and mixed veggie medley as my sides." He closed his menu. "Do you come here often?"

"Often enough. My grandfather likes to bring us here for special occasions and the like. Every once in a while I'll come just for the hell of it." Jake smiled "Its quiet a gem of a place."

Dave smiled and nodded. "It's a nice place." He started to play with his menu, flipping it open and shut. "What are you getting?

"I think I'll get the house sirloin today, I'm just trying to decide on sides." Jake replied warmly. "I always try and do something new. Do you know what you want to drink as well? They have fountain drinks and sparkling ciders. Dirk said you happen to like apples?" he asked, looking up.

Dave grinned shyly. "Yeah." His eyes were scanning the menu. "Actually, I think I'd like the fried okra instead of the mixed veggies."
