Re: Just a Number(Grandpa/Dave)
Jake placed their orders, ordering them both some sparkling apple cider to go with their meals.
Re: Just a Number(Grandpa/Dave)
Dave shrugged slightly. "Anything really. What kind of things do you do besides sportball?"
Re: Just a Number(Grandpa/Dave)
"I hunt, I have a part time Job at the gun club. I'm on the debate team." Jake chuckled. "I play many sports, the list goes on and on"
Re: Just a Number(Grandpa/Dave)
"Busy man." Dave put his napkin in his lap. "So...how many dates have you been on?"
Re: Just a Number(Grandpa/Dave)
"None" Jake admitted. "We never made it to a point where I felt comfortable being that intimate with them."
Re: Just a Number(Grandpa/Dave)
Dave started to fiddle with his napkin. Jake probably wasn't going to answer. But he really wanted to know. Especially after hearing from Dirk. "So....is it true?"
Re: Just a Number(Grandpa/Dave)
Dave continued to fiddle with his napkin. He was looking everywhere but at Jake. His cheeks were tinting pink as well. "You know." He hesitated a moment. "That...that you're big."
Re: Just a Number(Grandpa/Dave)
"Big?" Jake's brow furrowed before it hit him what he meant. "Oh. Oh! big!" he chuckled nervously. "Well, I suppose. I mean, I'm the biggest I've ever seen in the locker rooms."
Re: Just a Number(Grandpa/Dave)
"Um, I'm not positive. Maybe twelve, possibly eleven inches? Why does it matter?" Jake asked, blushing lightly.
Re: Just a Number(Grandpa/Dave)
Dave's whole face was bright red now. He was stuttering and squeezing his knees. Right now he was extremely thankful Jake wouldn't want sex later tonight. Eleven or twelve inches? He couldn't handle that. Dave was certain he was just too small for that.
Re: Just a Number(Grandpa/Dave)
"Are you quite alright?" Jake asked in concern, his brow furrowing slightly.
Re: Just a Number(Grandpa/Dave)
Dave could only nod as a reply. He actually wasn't okay now. Alright, he was. Now he was just even more nervous and slightly scared even. He shouldn't have even asked. Now he was going to be afraid of Jake and their relationship.
Re: Just a Number(Grandpa/Dave)
Jake's frowned deepened and he got up, walking around the table to Dave's side. He crouched, using a hand to gently tilt Dave's fact towards his own. "If you're not alright, you don't have to pretend to be for my sake" he stated gently "I can get our food to go and take you home if you'd like. I appreciate you agreeing to go on a date with me, but if you don't want to stay, I won't make you sit through dinner and a movie, that would be rude of me. I have no intentions of being forward with you or propositioning you at all. If you decide to allow me to continue a courtship with you, the only intimacy between us will be what you want and allow at your pace, and not a moment before."
Re: Just a Number(Grandpa/Dave)
Dave could feel tears forming at his eyes and making their way down his cheeks. God he really hoped Jake didn't notice. "I'm fine." He was trying hard to keep his voice and breathing steady. "I just need a minute. I'll be fine."
Re: Just a Number(Grandpa/Dave)
Jake pulled a handkerchief from his pocket and gently wiped Dave's tears away. "Please don't cry, Dave" Jake murmured softly. He offered Dave the hankie "Do you need to go to the men's room for your moment? Or would you like me to step outside with you a moment so you can get some fresh air?"
Re: Just a Number(Grandpa/Dave)
Dave gingerly took the hankie and wiped his eyes. This had to be a dream. This was just too good to be real. No one outside of his family had ever been this good to him. "Could we step outside please?"
Re: Just a Number(Grandpa/Dave)
"Of course" Jake replied gently. He stood as the waitress hurried over with their drinks. He smiled at her. "My friend has gotten a little worked up and needs to step outside a moment. We'll be right back in, but I'll leave my license so no one needs to worry about us leaving" He offered Dave his hand as the waitress nodded.
Re: Just a Number(Grandpa/Dave)
Dave took his hand and held on tight. This was so embarrassing. Jake was probably even more embarrassed. The youngest Strider didn't have any chance at a second date. Jake more than likely realized how much of a poop loser baby Dave was. "I'm sorry."
Re: Just a Number(Grandpa/Dave)
"Don't worry, All you need to worry about is feeling better" Jake assured him as he lead him out. "Just worry about calming down, so you can eat your supper. And if you still feel up to it we can go see a movie"
