Tavros closed the lid for the honey and resealed the brown sugar jar, setting them aside before he started stirring his oatmeal. "That would be, uh, r-really nice of you," he mumbled, smiling bashfully at the other man. "Are you sure it won't, um, make you late for work?"

"What time do you have to be in?" Robert asked "It only takes me ten minutes or so to get to work from the veterinary hospital, and it only takes me ten minutes to get there, so I should have plenty of time if you have to be there before ten"

"Eight thirty," Tavros answered, finally satisfied with how thoroughly he blended his oatmeal before digging in. "When do you, uh, have to be in?"

"Not until ten" Robert frowned and looked at his watch. "But if you have to be there at eight thirty we should probably leave soon, its already ten after"

Tavros's eyebrows rose and he started to really dig into his oatmeal then, not wanting to be late for work. He never liked pulling the 'I'm crippled' card when he was late for things. He wasn't even sure how it got that late from when he woke up. Usually he was already on the bus by eight.

Robert got up, putting his own breakfast in the microwave for later, and finished his coffee. "I think it would be much quicker for me to carry you to the car and put your chair in the back seat." he stated, moving out into the living room to fetch his hat and keys. "Is that alright with you?"

Tavros took a few quick bites of hash browns and punctured his juice box with his thumb, swiftly chugging its contents down and wheeling towards the kitchen with his dishes in his lap. He had to reach quite a bit to lower the dishes safely into the sink before tossing the juice box away in the garbage bin by the counter. "Uhhh, okay," he called back, heading out of the kitchen towards the living room, "If you don't think I'm too heavy. But I could, um, wheel to the passenger's s-side and you could just, um, help me into the seat from there?"

Robert crouched down and lifted Tavros carefully in the same manner he had not ten minutes earlier. "This is quicker" he smiled, standing and reaching out to grab the chair with the hand not supporting Tavros's legs and body and using a foot to help collapse it before heading right out the door and closing it behind them.

Tavros made a ~~wimpy~~ mANLY squeak when the older man picked him up, securely looping his arms around his neck and giving his best shot at not thinking about how strong Mr. Egbert's arms were. Definitely not thinking about that. He just wasn't used to having someone carry him around was all. Sure, getting wheeled from one place to the next was one thing, but actually being carried was something he really wasn't used to in the least.

Robert carried Tavros to the passenger side of the car and carefully placed him in the seat, fastening his safety belt and everything before placing his chair in the back seat. He quickly made his way to his own side and started the car, not wanting to make Tavros late.

Tavros tried to protest when Mr. Egbert strapped him into his seat, feeling like a helpless grub once again. He kind of wanted to remind him that he still had fully functional arms and that it was just his legs that were useless, but the man seemed determined to help him with everything. So rather than get upset over how pathetic Mr. Egbert was making him feel, he thanked him, wanting to show that he was grateful that someone was paying this much attention to him.

Robert smiled. "Its no trouble. Will you need a ride home, or do you want to take the bus?" he asked "I only work until five, but I have no problems picking you up if you get off later than that"

Tavros glanced over at him, considering which would be the better option. If he took Mr. Egbert up on the offer, it would save him three dollars as well as getting on an uncomfortably cramped bus filled with complete strangers. If he didn't, well, he couldn't think of any positives on that side. "Okay, um, I get off at seven twenty. Could I, uh, meet you out front around then?"

"Of course!" Robert smiled. "I'll even have dinner ready for when we get back." He watched the road carefully as he drove, managing to make it to the veterinary hospital in just under ten minutes. "Have a wonderful Day"

"Um, you too, Mr. Egbert." Tavros unbuckled his seat belt and opened the door before leaning back in his seat, pulling out his folded wheelchair and setting up outside the door. He had done this so many times he could practically do it in his sleep and in some instances, he almost believed that he had done just that. He then lowered himself into the chair and shut the door, waving Mr. Egbert off before wheeling towards the animal hospital.

Robert smiled and gave him a wave in return before driving off.

He returned at the time Tavros specified, humming along softly to some Jazz on the radio. As promised, he had cooked dinner before he left, and at the moment it was keeping warm in the oven so he could pick up Tavros.

Tavros showed up a couple of minutes late, taking a while to get ready to leave when it was time for him to go home. When he recognized the Egbert's car, he wheeled up to it and knocked on the passenger's door, waving at Mr. Egbert inside to unlock the door and let him in.

Tavros shook his head, replying, "No, I'm pretty sure I can d-do this." He reached up and gripped the upholstery to hoist himself into the seat, taking quite a bit of gusto before he was finally sitting upright in the seat. He leaned over and folded his chair, bringing it in and carefully sticking it in the back seat. He fastened his seat belt and shut the door, heaving a deep sigh of accomplishment as he looked over at Mr. Egbert with a smile. "Thanks for, um, picking me up."

Robert's smile widened. "My pleasure! I even made dinner, just as I said I would. Its waiting for you when we get home, and then we can sit with my birds for a little while. Do you still want to do that?"

Tavros nodded with a smile, "Yeah, I'm, uh, still up for it. Been looking forward to seeing th-them again actually." After dealing with an endless stream of sick animals all day, getting to return home to pets that weren't throwing up or making the most heart breaking whines was definitely a relief. He laced his fingers together on his lap, running his thumbs in circles for a bit before asking, "So, uh, how was work?"

"Wonderful. I found a mistake that another employee had made and fixed whaat could have been a disaster!" Robert declared happily. "But my work is boring, How was your Day?" He pulled away from the curb and headed towards home.

"Lots of work; lots of sick animals," Tavros replied, thinking to himself how there were always sick animals. Always. "Only had to perform two, uh, euthanasia's today..." he mumbled solemnly, sighing to himself. "Was still sad though." He then quickly tried to bring up something more cheerful that happened that day, declaring, "One of our dogs h-had, uh, puppies though! No stillborns either. There's six of them, little corgis. R-really cute things."

"My mother had a corgi when I was a boy" Robert stated cheerfully. "That was of course before my allergies developed, but he had been such a wonderful dog. They're a wonderful breed, Corgis."

Tavros chewed lightly on the inside of his cheek, wishing that he was a better conversationalist. "I'll, uh, bring some other clothes with me, for work next time, so your car doesn't have pet hair all over it," he smiled apologetically his way before looking back down rather guiltily at the patches of hair he had gotten on his shirt and jeans.
