Karkat dropped his tray with Dave's. "Other side of campus, but the teacher doesn't always keep us until 5:30." Karkat admitted. "And its only a ten minute trip... If I run"

"No need to run man. I'll just wait for you." He said with a shrug. He didn't mind really; plus it would give them the chance to walk and talk a little more.

"You sure?" Karkat asked, sounding a little unsure himself. "I mean, If its too late we can really go off campus, I don't care"

"Positive. I mean, it's a whole half hour. I'll just run by my dorm, then go off to meet you." He said with a shrug. "If it comes to it and we're too late, then we'll go off campus." He held open the door for him as they walked out.

The rest of the day went by slowly for the human, his eyes constantly darting to the clock to see when he would be able to see the troll again. Five o'clock could not have come sooner, giving a sigh of relief when it finally did. He left his class and headed straight for the dorms, planning on dropping his stuff off before walking over to wait for Karkat.

Five o'clock had the troll glancing fervently at the clock, his professor not even close to being done. It figured that the one day he needed class to end early, that it might actually run late.

Dave arrived at his dorm, unlocking the door and walking inside. He dropped his bag on his bed, pocketing his wallet just in case. He figured he had some time left, so he might as well inform Sollux on how things were going. He walked over to his laptop and opened it, logging onto Pesterchum before sending the Gemini his message.

TG: things seem a lot better than before
TG: he doesnt seem to be hating me in the meantime
TG: youre probably going to hear from him about it

He didn't know if Sollux would answer or not, considering his classes, but he would always get it later.

Finally 5:30 came around, and as anticipated, the professor kept them late. Karkat sent a desperate text to Tavros, asking him to tell Dave that he would be late, and might not make the deadline.

Dave was on his way over to Karkat's current class building when he felt his phone go off in his pocket. He read the text over before sending a reply.

When Karkat got the response text from Tavros, he felt his heart leap to his throat for reasons he couldn't comprehend. He sent a quick thank you to Tav before turning his attention back to the prof.

Class finally let out at quarter till, and Karkat was the last to schlep from the room with a scowl.

There Dave was, leaning on the wall next to the door, waiting just as he said. "So what made hard-ass keep you guys up?" He inquired curiously with a chuckle.

"Film studies." Karkat grumbled. "Talking about the correct way to dissect the meaning behind a film and each scene"

Behind his grumpy exterior, Karkat was actually flattered that Dave had come to wait for him like he said he would. Maybe he was more flushed for the human than he was willing to admit, even if it was just a flush crush.

"Sounds interesting enough." He said, pushing off of the wall to stand next to him. "So, did you have a movie in mind?" He remembered Sollux's advice about romcoms, which he would actually watch if that's what Karkat chose.

"Not really. I signed up for the alert texts from the dollar theater a few blocks away, and I got a message not to long ago saying they were doing a double feature super sequal deal. I mean its stuff you can buy on dvd, but there's just something nice about being in a theater." Karkat explained. "And its one of those neat older theaters where you can buy a food pass for three bucks and bring in food from outside"

"Really now?" He said with a raised brow. He'd have to remember that for future reference. "Lets get to it then." He said with a small smile. They were alone, so it's not like anyone would see the rare sight.

"As mentioned before, I'm not a picky eater. Is there anywhere near the theater that has good food?" He inquired as they walked in the direction of the college entrance.

"There's a deli that has really good subs. And a pizza parlor with good hoagies. And about a block away, there'a a troll place that sells stuff tame enough not to turn human stomachs" Karkat replied.

"I'll try the safe route with human food." He said before answering. "Subs sound good right now."
