Bro grunted. "Oh man, Tav you know I love it when you take the bull by the horns" he smirked. "So does this mean we're back on for dinner?"

Karkat moved back away from them uncomfortably, warbling softly as he shot Dave a questioning look.

Dave didn't see the look Karkat gave him, too busy avoiding the troll's gaze in shame. He wouldn't go near Karkat until he was convinced that the troll wasn't afraid of him anymore, so for now, he kept his distance.

Tavros gripped Bro by the ears and placed a kiss on each cheek before giving him a hard peck on the mouth, pulling back to grin back at him. "I'd like that, but, uh, I'm not so sure, about them."

Bro snorted softly. "Dave, hug the damn kid already. He doesn't understand when you love on him then ignore him after you've scared the piss out of him, and you're gonna alienate him if you keep doing it"

Karkat gave Bro a hurt little look. He had told Bro that in confidence, unsure if Dave really liked him or not.

Dave looked at Bro in surprise, then over to Karkat, not sure if what Bro said was true or not, but then again, why would he lie about something like that? He rubbed his arm nervously before walking over to the troll, kneeling down in front of him. He just wanted to give Karkat some space because he thought that's what he needed. He thought that Karkat was scared of him. It only made sense to Dave that the troll wouldn't want to be anywhere near him, but if that wasn't the case, he was going to show Karkat all the affection he could.

Karkat bit his lip and looked down at his lap guiltily. He couldn't look Dave in the eye after Bro said what Karkat had told him, and he was scared Dave might be mad at him.

Bro rolled his eyes at the two's behavior. "Tav, baby, what do you want for dinner?"

"Chili dogs!" Tavros chimed, bouncing in Bro's lap excitedly.

Dave heaved a sigh, going the extra foot between them and grabbing Karkat's shoulders, pulling him into a hug. He nuzzled Karkat's head, kissing his ear and rubbing the back of his neck tenderly. He wished Karkat could confide in him as much as he did in Bro, if not more so. That'd be great if he knew exactly what Karkat was trying to tell him when he signed him things, but there was only so much he could interpret. He had only started learning the damn language a few days ago, it's not like he could be expected to "speak" it fluently.

Karkat made a distressed little whine before wrapping his arms tightly around Dave.

Tavros frowned slightly, tilting his head. "But, that's what I want for dinner." His smile returned, but this time it held wicked intent behind it. "Besides, I, uh, thought we already celebrated."

Dave really wished that he was not overhearing that conversation. He instead tried to focused entirely on Karkat, leaning back to take a seat, tugging the troll onto his lap and petting him.

Bro chuckled. "Alright, alright. We can have anything you want for dinner. So if you want chili dogs for dinner, I'll go to sonic's drive in and get us all chili dogs and we can all watch shitty movies and hang out on the futon." he practically cooed to the former troll.

Karkat wriggled into a comfortable position in Dave's lap, never letting go. He let out soft little noises with every little caress of Dave's hand on his head, which was comfortably lodged in the crook of Dave's neck, hiding his face.

Dave whispered apologies into Karkat's ear, pressing kisses there and telling him how he would explain what happened later. However, he couldn't help but overhear that last part Bro mentioned and it made him seize up, turning his head to eye his brother incredulously. "No way, I am not going anywhere near that futon."

Tavros kissed Bro on the forehead, grinning at him then over to Dave. "No one said you had to sit on the, um, futon. There's a perfectly good floor all around it." He knew that the purpose of Dave avoiding sitting on the futon was to keep away from a surface that Bro and Tavros had romped around on, but there was no need to tell him that the floor was another one of those 'romping' grounds. Dave might never take his shoes off then.

"Might want to avoid the kitchen table then." Bro snickered. "And maybe a few places in your room." He smirked, giving Tavros some eskimo kisses. "For all you know, we could have done it on every fuckable surface in the apartment." Which they had, including a few surfaces that really weren't but they did anyway, if the ass prints on Bro's computer screen were anything to go by, not that anyone noticed because the screen was rarely blackened.

Karkat's grip tightened and he let out a little warble at Dave's tone. He really didn't like when Dave was mad or upset.

"Bro!" Tavros scolded, flustered by Bro's shameless input, his skin heating up in embarrassment. Bro sure was quick about getting over any remorse he might have had when his little brother saw him fucking his friend not even an hour ago. "Geez, i-is that really something you have to tell him about?" He was glad that Bro wasn't back to his overdosing in the self remorse department, but wow, could he at least keep from acting like a cocky jerk who plowed the office hottie on the boss's desk?

Dave would have shrugged it off, called it a bluff that he would never demand proof of being anything else, but Tavros's response made it easy for him to realize that Bro very well might not have been lying just to irk him. "There goes my appetite for the evening," he grumbled, no longer looking at them as the last thing he needed to be focusing his mind on was his guardian. He had seen enough of him as it was already.

Karkat nudged Dave gently, trying to get his attention again.

Tavros considered telling Bro what Dave had told him at the apartment, that all Dave had been doing was defending his friend, but he kept it to himself this time. There was no need to tell Bro that Dave thought he had just walked into a friend-getting-raped scenario. It had taken him long enough convincing Bro that he wasn't a pedophile, there was no need to introduce the label "rapist," into the mix.

"Right," he muttered, caressing the back of Bro's head with one hand while the other rubbed his back.

Dave looked back at Karkat, his annoyance ebbing a little at the troll's sweet expression of concern and he couldn't help but give him a softened smile. "What is it, baby?"

Karkat rubbed his face against Dave's shoulder with a little chirp, wiggling in his lap. He would rather Dave love on him than pay attention to the other two.

"So, you gonna let me up so I can go get our dinner?" Bro asked with a little smile.

Dave hugged Karkat tighter, reaching down and hoisting him up as he rose to his feet. "I love you too."

Tavros nodded, getting up and tugging Bro with him by the arm. "I'll go with you, so you don't have to carry them all yourself."

Karkat gave a short little purr, hanging onto Dave tightly.

"Alright. Think we can trust the two of them alone in the apartment together?" Bro asked with a chuckle as he stood. He wrapped an arm around Tavros and tugged him to his chest lightly.

Tavros leaned into Bro, slipping an arm around his waist as he lead them to the door. "I, uh, don't think we need to worry about them doing anything on our bed any time soon."

Dave pressed his lips against Karkat's neck, locking his arms together under the troll's rear to keep him in place as he followed after the other two. "You are the sweetest thing, you know that?" He muttered, rubbing his cheek against Karkat's neck.

Tavros looked back at Bro, not understanding where he was going with this. "Then what are you worried about?"

Dave chuckled at the sound of Karkat purring, able to feel the steady vibrations against his chest coming from the little troll. His mood was so much better now that he was holding his matesprit again. He had felt horrible about leaving him with Bro on the roof for so long that he wanted to make up for his mistake by showing him all the loving he could.

"I'm not." Bro replied with a smile. "It was a joke. Like how we shouldn't be trusted alone together for long periods of time, but Dave wouldn't do that with his little troll, he's too afraid of hurting him"

Karkat continued purring as Dave carried him back inside.

"We'll be gone about half an hour" Bro informed Dave. "Clean him up and find a way to stay out of trouble till we come back"

Dave set Karkat back on his feet, rolling his eyes at Bro. "Come on, Karkat can clean himself up. He might be mute, but he's not dumb."

Tavros barely suppressed an onslaught of giggling, leaning up and whispering in Bro's ear, "I think Dave might be the dumb one."

Karkat let out a distressed noise and tightened his grip around Dave's neck, on his tip toes as he tried to stay up in Dave's arms. He didn't want to get down or let go!

"Not that I'm not agreeing with you, but what makes you say that?" Bro smirked.

"Dave is shutting down a chance to see Karkat naked," Tavros muttered in Bro's ear, adding, "That doesn't sound very smart if you ask me."

If Dave wasn't so busy trying to pull Karkat back up in his arms, he might be more annoyed by Tavros and Bro so clearly talking about either him or Karkat. Either that or they were whispering just to irritate him.

"I think he's too nervous to see him naked." Bro replied with a smirk. "see, Dave found out that troll horns have this reflex when you squeeze the base, and that if you keep touching the rest of the horn and stuff that it 'makes him horny'. He yanked Karkat's pants down and got a handful of tentadick, thinkin a rat crawled up his pants." He looked over at the two of them.

Karkat purred and nuzzled Dave happily.

"I don't think he even knows about the freaky troll vage you guys have goin on." Bro chuckled. "When he finds out..." Bro's smirk turned a little viscous at a thought. "You know what you should do tomorrow while I'm at work? You should tell little Davey about the drones and the grubs."
