Jeff went to get the plate, handing it to Robert when he returned.

Jeff shoved his hands into his pocket. "John enrolled in school yet?"

Jake looked back up at him. "Yes."

"Not yet. He took his exams for his previous school early since we were moving, but we have all summer to enroll him." Robert stated.

John smiled and leaned down.

Jeff looked back over to the kids. "Is he going to private school? Dave's in public school and he's doin' pretty good. Smart little kiddo."

Jake eagerly leaned up to kiss John.

"John prefers public school." Robert admitted. "Jade will be going to private school though, I believe"

John gave Jake a little smooch.

Jeff nodded. "Cool. He'll get to go to school with Dave. Is Jane still in college?"

Jake moved his head to John's lap. "Make love tonight?"

Jade glanced over at them, then grinned and turned her head when she noticed John was awake. "John, come say hi to your other boyfriend."

"She is, though she may take the first semester for break, to get used to the change" Robert admitted. "She still has to get with her aunt to get situated at the Crocker branch down here"

John looked up with a 'huh?' only to grin at Dave "Dave! Hi!"

Jeff turned back to Robert. "She's not working with mommy dearest?"

Jake sighed as he got up, going into the house.

Dave grinned back at John. "Hey, nerd."

Robert shook his head, putting hot dogs on the grill now. "No, Beatrice is staying up north at the Washington branch. As it is Jane was having too much difficulty working under her."

John sat up and stretched.

Jade winked at John. "Are you going to give him a kiss?"

"Candice" Jane supplied at Jeff's side as she passed a package of tofu patties to Robert. "Slick called and he's bringing the boys over for a little bit. Apparently Karkat is having a tantrum about the move and he needs some help calming him down" she stated to Robert.

Robert nodded. "Alright, Thank you"

John held out his arms. "Sure!" he made grabbie hands at Dave.

"Oh yeah." Jeff grinned at Jane. "Hey there, pretty miss. Last time I saw you, you were only about as tall as my hip. Come give me a hug."

Dave smiled as he got up and moved over to John.

"No thank you, I'm not big on physical displays of affection" Jane replied. "You can thank my mother for that."

"Beatrice was not the most gentle with her." Robert agreed. "She would ask for a hug under the pretense of getting Jane close enough to grab her."

John pulled Dave into his lap. "Hi"

Robert hummed, putting the patties on the grill with the hot dogs.

Jade grinned as she turned back to Tavros.

Dave leaned down to nuzzle John. "Do I get alone time with you tonight?"

Tavros smiled. "Maybe I'll be able to come over again tomorrow" he stated.
"Maybe, I'm so tired from unpacking all night, I dunno if I'll be up very long after dinner" John admitted

"Rufio and, um, dad already unpacked my room. It was the first thing they, uh, did. So, you know, I would have something to do while they were busy" Tavros admitted

Jane smirked. "That way no one can tell if I'm serious, or if I've hidden a confetti cannon that's angled to go off in their face and make them back into the pool."
