Dirk sniffled but leaned his head in the door. "Fine" he mumbled, his voice thick.

"Just remember, Dirk has the power to tell my dad what we've been doing too" John warned, crossing his arms.

Saw lightly pecked Dirk's lips. "Sorry."

"no you're not" Dirk sniffled, a tear escaping down his cheek. "If you were, you wouldn't be sending me away"

"How is it different? I'm with you and I trust you not to hurt me, and you haven't. Dirk's going through the same thing, only difference is, he's been closer and you've been hearing him without realizing its actually him"

"John. Knock it off. I ask you to do one thing and you won't fucking listen to me. You're not helping the situation."

A little sob slipped out when Dirk pulled away.

John frowned. "Why?"

Saw kissed his forehead. "It's going to be okay. But you have to listen to your brother. You're a mature young man Dirk. That's why I'm dating you. But I can't stay with you if you won't obey your guardian."

"Because I fucking said so John. If you're not going to respect my wishes then I don't want you around."

John made a pissed little noise and walked back into the apartment. He came back out with his backpack and slammed the door behind him.

Dirk sniffled and nodded. He kept his head down as he turned away.

Jeff was silent the whole ride to Rhonda's house.

Roxy, Rose, Dave, and Jade were in the basement. Rhonda was making all of the kids go downstairs until dinner was ready. She was currently making herself a martini before stirring a pot of mashed potatoes. Jo was in the dining, playing on her phone.

Jane was downstairs with the rest of the kids. Jake had yet to make an appearance.

Robert was in the kitchen with Rhonda, helping her cook, while Josh was in the dining room with Jo.

Jo was pouting as she played Solitaire on her phone. Robert hadn't even noticed her yet. She huffed under her breathe. The dress was ugly and plain. The bolero was just as ugly and plain.
