He didn't get a response. Jeff sighed as he dipped a nugget in mustard. "If you really want to help, just go in. He might bark at you a bit, but he won't bite."

"I'm only now starting to scare you?" Jeff asked a bit surprised. "Most of Dave's friend's are freaked out by me five minutes after meeting." Dave still didn't respond.

"Am I being serious? I'll let you decide." He pushed his plate aside and stood up. "I'm gonna head to work early. Make sure he eats and doesn't fling himself off the roof."

Silence. Jeff snorted as he grabbed his keys. He didn't say anything else and slammed the door when he left. A few minutes after he left the door to Dave's room opened up by a crack. After ling out for a few seconds Dave walked past Tavros and went to the table. He was wiping his face with his sleeve and breathing heavily.

"He doesn't love me back either, Dave" Tavros mumbled just loud enough for Dave to hear. "That's what I wanted to tell you. That you aren't alone, and that the Troll I pity doesn't pity me back"

Dave didn't look at him. His aviators weren't on. He kept his head propped up with one hand as he ate with the other. "I don't wanna talk about this. Just drop it."

"Getting my reaching stick" Tavros replied. "So I can reach stuff on the floor." He looked at Dave over his shoulder. "If you want I can make cookies or something, if you wanna go get the stuff to make them"

Tavros grabbed a sheet of paper and hastily jotted down what he would need before wheeling back out. "here!" he grinned.

45 minutes later Dave was back with two brown paper bags. He looked around the apartment as he went into the kitchen and put the bags on the table. "You really didn't have to do this Tav."

Tavros wheeled out of the bathroom. "Um, it actually helps me a lot more than you think." he replied shyly. "Its easier for me to wheel around when I'm not rolling over stuff. Plus I kind of like cleaning."

Dave crossed the room over to Tavros. He dent down and hugged him. "How did I end up with such a great moirail?"
