Tavros smiled. "That sounds, um, great" he replied. "But I gotta warn you, I might fall asleep on you. It was a long day at work, uh, and I'm kinda tired." He moved around a little so he could pull the blanket over himself and scoot closer to the wall so Gamzee could have the space closer to the edge of the bed. "Um, I hope you don't mind."

Gamzee snickered, amused that Tav would think he would 'mind'. Like he minded much of anything any more. "MiNd? WoUlD a MoThEr FuCkEr MiNd If He GoT tO wAtCh A mOvIe WiTh ThE sLiCkEsT bRoThEr He EvEr KnOwN? I dOn'T fUcKiNg ThInK sO."

Gamzee slumped over to the DVD player under the miniature television set, sinking to his knees as his hand fumbled along the 'open' button before finally palming it hard enough to make it work its magic. After the DVD tray slid out, his thumbs dug into the case, popping it open so that the disc flung out onto the floor. He clumsily picked it up and blew the dust off, plunking it on the tray and pushing the 'open' button again. At least this time he didn't break the disc accidentally and then try shoving the shattered pieces into the DVD player.

The television's power button was pressed on with an unsteady thumb and he picked up the remote, handing it to Tav when he got back on the bed beside him. It was always a better idea to give Tavros the remote since Gamzee couldn't understand a lick of what the fuck the symbols on the thing did.

Tavros fiddled with the remote for a minute before he could get it to work just so. He set in on top of the blankets over his legs and leaned his head on Gamzee's shoulder. "Um, I'm not sure if I've seen this one yet" he admitted with a little smile. He shifted before tilting his head to look up at him. "Um, Maybe we'd be more comfortable if we lay back against the pillows, um, we can put all of your pillows over here too, so we'd be up more I mean"

"I dOn'T tHiNk I hAvE eItHeR," Gamzee agreed with Tavros, but he wasn't eager about having to move since he would lose contact with the warmth from his best bro's head on his shoulder. Still, Tavros always knew best. "M'yEaH, oK." He finally said after staring at his friend for an unreasonably long time before scooting off the bed and over to his own. The purple pillows he had laying around his bed were hauled up over his head and he came back to where Tavros was seated, propping the pillows against the wall parallel to the bed.

After he set his pillows up, he propped up Tav's as well, taking his sweet time getting it set up. Nothing to rush over. No customers demanding that he hurry up bagging their things and figuring out their change. It was just him fluffing up pillows and all of the time in the world. When he was done, he flopped backwards into the cushioned bundles, placing his hands on his raised knees as he continued watching the introduction to the movie.

Tavros had to shift a little to rest his head on Gamzee's shoulder again, but he did it gladly. Even if he knew he wasn't going to be able to stay awake, he wanted to be with Gamzee. He was his best friend, and when they had been trolls, Tavros had the biggest Flush crush on him. He was just glad that he had been able to stay with him on earth, even if they were only friends.

Gamzee rested his head on top of Tav's, a dopey smile spreading across his face as he slid a hand around the other, previous troll's shoulder. On the bright side, ever since they had become humans, they no longer had to worry over damaging their horns or accidentally rubbing them the wrong way. Well, maybe that bright side was a bit dimmer than it seemed when it came to that unique feel-good the horns gave off when they were rubbed the right way.

"MmMmMmMmMmM... hEy, TaV?" He suddenly drawled in mid-hum as the movie panned out to a forest, establishing the setting. "YoU eVeR mIsS yOuR hOrNs?" He always kind of figured that Tavros must have hated his what with how inconvenient they must have been, like trying to lay sideways or turn his head when someone was directly behind him. Gamzee had learned the hard way when it came to sneak-attack-hugging his best bro from behind.

"Sometimes" Tavros replied with a little smile. "But not much. I, Um, I like my movement being a little more free than it was before. I mean, I can stand close to you guys now. Like this."

'Stand close' was an interesting choice of words and the clown's half lidded eyes lowered to Tavros's useless legs when he said this, Gamzee's smile lowering by a fraction. "YeAh, ThAs GoTtA bE pReTtY fUcKiN nIcE." And it was nice. Gamzee couldn't have gotten this close to Tav otherwise; he would have been too busy trying to dodge the other's horns. The entirety of his smile returned and he nuzzled the side of his head in the place where one of Tavros's horns would have been, enjoying the velvety feel of his buzzed hair as the tip of his nose rubbed against the back of his buddy's ear, breathing against it, "WhErE's ThAt MoThEr FuCkInG sAsQuAtCh ThEy WaS tAlKiNg AbOuT?"

Tavros chuckled. "Just wait, um, I'm sure it'll show up soon. Don't worry" He nuzzled Gamzee's shoulder in return with a happy little sigh. It was nice being able to be close to Gamzee, even if he missed how his horns intimidated others.

Almost just as suddenly as Gamzee was asking about it, the 'hairy mother fucker' appeared on screen, looking dazed and confused. Yup, Gamzee could definitely relate to that expression. His grin spread against Tavros's scalp and his legs sunk down to a more comfortable position, nudging one of Tav's feet with his own playfully. Wait, no, that was just cruel playing one-sided footsies with someone who couldn't move much of anything below their hips. He reconsidered what he was doing and went with just plain old stopping before it seemed like he was teasing which he would never ever dream of doing to his best bro.

Tavros smiled slightly when he felt Gamzee's grin. He bit back a yawn, only meaning to close his eyes a minute, but he hadn't been lying when he'd told Gamzee that he was tired and was liable to drift off.

All the tension (no one realised just how tense the handicapped former troll was until they saw him when he was sleeping) just kind of melted from his body, Gamzee being the only thing holding him up in a comfortable position.

At first, the weight of Tavros's body was only a light pressure against Gamzee's and he didn't hold very much notice of it. That is, until Tavros was starting to lean much more heavily into him that even Gamzee was beginning to slide far too precariously to the side. His arm shot out with a speed that startled him into an almost sober-like state for a split second and he was suddenly struggling to keep both of them up. Then he started thinking to himself, 'why am I even trying to keep us up?' This was a very good question with no reasonable answer that he could bring to mind. So he let gravity do its thing and he landed on his side against the bed, Tavros's body falling in front of him shortly after.

Tavros made a sleepy little grunt and wriggled his shoulders into a comfortable position. He wasn't a very restless sleeper, being unable to roll much due to his paralysis from about his hips down, but such movement wasn't uncommon for him. The fact that he didn't wake from the fall, however, was a little unusual since he was a light sleeper due to the same handicap.

Gamzee scooted up a bit more so that Tavros's head wasn't blocking his view from the movie and he wrapped an arm around him, his other arm being used as a makeshift head rest. Almost instinctively, one of Gamzee's legs lifted and tangled along one of Tavros's like he would if he was clinging to a pillow before he went to bed. And even before that, he used to do the same thing when his lusus would come back from the sea and he would wrap himself all up against one of his lusus's forelegs. He didn't care that his lusus smelled like fish shit and rotten salt water; that wasn't what was important. What mattered was that his lusus was back, he was there for him for once, but now he wasn't and never would be again, but Gamzee had Tavros, and Tavros sure wasn't going anywhere any time soon, so life was good. Life was mother fucking peachy keen.

Tavros slept comfortably through the entire movie, it wasn't often that he got to sleep next to someone, but he always slept better when he did. After they had gotten used to Earth when they first arrived, Tavros had asked Mr. Egbert about a pet, like a dog or a cat, to keep him company since he was so restricted, but was ultimately declined due to the adult's animal allergy.

Speaking of the man, Mr. Egbert stuck his head in the door way. "Gamzee, Dinner is ready if you want to wake Tavros. If not, we can save him some, I know he was up early this morning."

Gamzee had been just drifting off when Dad came in and he smiled a mile wide at him as he disentangled himself from Tavros and sat up, answering in a half asleep daze, "I tHiNk He'S aLl ThE fFfFfUuUuU-- AlL tUcKeReD oUt, MiStEr EgBeRt SiR." No matter how out of it Gamzee got, he always seemed to be able to catch himself right before he would cuss in front of Mr. Egbert. And it wasn't even as though Gamzee got punished for when he first started bad mouthing in front of the guy; he was simply told in the most polite, authoritative voice, to kindly mind his manners. And he did. That and Equius tended to nag a lot about it.

"AnD i DoN't WaNt To WaKe HiM wHeN hE's GeTtInG hIs NaP oN, yOu KnOw?" He added as he slid over Tavros like a doped up sloth. It just wouldn't be a nice thing to do, cutting someone off from finishing up on their Z's. "WhAt'D tHe ChEf MaKe ToNiGhT?"

Mr. Ebgert smiled gently. "Tonight I made Eggplant Parmesan, and a lovely side salad. And for dessert, I made a custard pie." He watched Tavros stir gently, his eyes flickering before relaxing again. "Don't forget to turn the television off before you come down to the kitchen." He smiled, before withdrawing from the room.

Gamzee crawled off of his buddy's sleeping form and rubbed one of his feet in little circles along the floor's surface before shifting his weight and pushing himself into a standing position. Dad sure knew how to make a mother fucker hungry. He didn't even like salad, but when Mr. E started putting words like 'lovely' in front of it, it sounded like the best thing in the world and it probably would be. That guy could make anything taste just as good as it sounded and then some.

After a perilous trek down the stairs, Gamzee finally made his way into the dining room where Equius was already setting down the plastic plates that the Egberts had purchased for the overly powerful ~~troll~~ man to handle. They had gone through too many broken dishes and chipped mugs with missing handles and shattered glasses that it came to a point where they now mostly used the more flexible, plastic substitutes. But Gamzee didn't mind the switch, especially since the plastic ones came in so many pretty fucking colors. Oop, there are those colors again that he's so fixated on. It's probably like raccoons and shiny things. Yeah. Probably.

"Yo, HoRsE bRoThEr," Gamzee waved lazily at Equius as he slumped into his seat at the table before looking down at his plate as though he expected it to suddenly be covered with food.

"Greetings... Mr. Makara," the hulking, former blueblood muttered, no longer using the term 'highblood' as it was rather pointless to preach the hierarchy when they were all the same blood color.

John sat between them with a smile. "Hey guys, where's Tav today? He worked this morning right?"

Mr. Egbert started scooping serving onto all of their plates, the size dependent on how much they usually ate. Like, Equius and John got the largest servings, then Gamzee's with Mr. E's the smallest. Usually Tavros's was the smallest, because he didn't eat much at once except at breakfast when he needed the energy most.

Gamzee watched Dad scoop the veggie based pasta onto his plate, salivating at the smell and almost drooling over himself as he answered John, "YeAh, He WaS wOrKiNg. I tHiNk He MiGhT hAvE bEeN wOrKiNg ToO hArD tHoUgH. He LoOkEd LiKe AlL kInDs Of TiReD wHeN wE cAmE hOmE." He prodded at the small salad bowl beside his plate, knowing that he would have to take care of the salad first before he moved onto the main course. Worst things first; best things last. His fork impaled several leaves and he shoved the over-sized vegetation into his mouth, chewing on it like a cow.

John's face fell a little as he watched Gamzee. "Um, Don't you want any dressing?" he asked, watching Gamzee chew like he wasn't enjoying the salad.

"Just let him be, John." Mr. Egbert stated with a chuckle. "Now, what would you boys like to drink? I know you want a glass of milk, Equius"

Gamzee blinked at the ranch dressing across the table with one eye lapsing slower than the other, willing his mind to grab it and drench his salad in the white savior of flavor. He could just ask for Mr. E to hand it over, but his mouth was full of plants and he wasn't going to talk with his mouth full. He had been taught better than that.

"Yes, that would be... acceptable," Equius nodded at Mr. E, already moving through his third bite of parmesan.

Robert got out the milk and poured Equius and himself a glass, getting Gamzee and John both a can of soda before sitting at the table. He covertly slipped the ranch to Gamzee's side of the table so the former troll could put some on his salad. He was thinking the Troll might need new medication.

Spotting the dressing so much closer to him than it was a moment ago, Gamzee picked it up and unscrewed the cap, positioning the bottle over his head. He opened his mouth and flipped the bottle upside down, squirting the ranch onto his green mush coated tongue. The bottle was flipped sideways and used to pour more of its contents onto his salad, finally being placed back on the table with a thick, swallowing sound coming from the doped up, former troll's throat. "SoRrY aBoUt ThAt," he breathed with a sigh, picking up his fork and spreading some of the ranch around on his salad. "CoUlDn'T gEt It DoWn WiTh OuT sOmE dReSsInG tAgGiNg AlOnG fOr A rIdE."

"Its quite alright" Robert replied. "Just, please, make sure to eat all your vegetables this time. They're good for you. John, do not use slight of hand to move your tomato ccunks to Equius's plate. You are twenty years old, Do I need to treat you like a child again?"

John looked down at his plate, guilty at getting caught.
