Equius hummed in agreement, finishing off the last bit of his pie before moving onto John's. "Thank you. I can't tell you how relieving it is that there is at least one other rational being under this roof."

Gamzee came back out of the kitchen, strolling behind the men at the table before stopping at Mr. Egbert's side. His hand reached out and patted him on the shoulder appreciatively, causing Equius to look up at the two curiously. "ThAnKs FoR tHe HeAdS uP. AnD dInNeR, tHaT wAs pReTtY dAmN gOoD tOo."

Robert nodded at him with a smile. "Of course" he stated before turning back to Equius. "But what about Tavros?"

Gamzee removed his hand from Dad's shoulder and was about to turn away until he heard his best bro's name mentioned. Now it was his turn to be curious over what they were talking about and his gaze slowly met Equius's and the former blue blood began to sweat.

Sure, Gamzee might have appeared laid back and relaxed, if not in fact quite out of touch with what was going on, but Equius knew how alarmingly sudden that demeanor could change as soon as he went through with insulting the former lowblood.

"Him too," he muttered, hoping the vague answer would make Gamzee lose interest.

As it turned out, it had quite the opposite effect, causing Gamzee to drag himself into the conversation. "HiM tOo, WhAt?"

"We were just discussing that Tavros was another of the rational people in the house, aside from Equius and I" Robert smiled.

Equius watched Gamzee's reaction carefully, though it didn't seem to change by even the slightest margin as the other troll slowly processed what Mr. Egbert had just said.

"MaN, yOu TwO hAvE tHe MoSt BoRiNg ChAtS," he muttered finally, returning on his way out of the kitchen and upstairs.

Robert laughed loudly. "That's because they're chock full of intelligence!" he replied teasingly after the lanky ex-juggalo

"SmArT-aSs," Gamzee muttered under his breath with a grin, clomping up the staircase and into the bedroom where Tavros was sleeping.

Tarvos was still in the bed, his torso twisted awkwardly from shifting since his lower half didn't move. One arm hung over the edge, the other cradling the pillow over his head.

Gamzee shut the door behind him, at least having enough sense to do it quietly so as not to disturb Tavros's sleep. He was even mindful to keep his movement silent as he climbed onto Tavros's bed, slipping in behind him and wrapping an arm around the other's belly, pulling him close. This wasn't a terribly weird thing for him to do as they often fell asleep in each other's arms or on top of each other, on the couch, on the floor, in bed, wherever they ended up lounging around really. It was just because he felt so comfortable around Tav. He could really unwind around him and it was like his mind was in heaven whenever they were like this, just drifting on a cloud, melting into each other like chocolate bunnies in a hot pan.

Even when he was starting to get that itch in his brain telling him he needed more of his prescription, it became nothing more than muffled, background noise. Tav had the ultimate pacifying aura about him that Gamzee could just never get enough of. And after what Mr. Egbert said, he really couldn't wait to hold his buddy again, though he wasn't sure when he'd mention what Mr. E told him to Tavros. He figured that he would just wait for the right moment, or maybe when he wakes up.

Would it freak Tav out if he started kissing him? It just felt like such a casual thing Gamzee could easily slide into that it didn't even seem that far of a step higher in their current relationship. It'd be so natural, mother nature would swear it was one of her own creations. Nah, he'd wait for Tav's permission before trying that. He never wanted to make his buddy unhappy or uncomfortable, those were situations he absolutely refused to put him through, at least if he was conscious enough to realize he was putting him through one, that is.

Tavros grunted softly, wriggling before opening his eyes slowly. "Gamzee, um, I'm pretty sure my legs aren't supposed to bend that way" he mumbled drowsily. " I may not be able to move them or feel them but, um, I can feel then they twist and knot up my back"

Gamzee grinned a mile wide against Tav's back, slithering a hand onto his hip. "WeLl ThEn, LeT's TwIsT tHoSe LeGs So ThEy FiT rIgHt." He gripped Tav's hipbone and tipped it forward gently, slipping himself into the small space he made behind Tavros's waist so that the other male's legs were in a proper position that fit Tav's torso. "ThAt BeTtEr?" He asked, nuzzling the back of Tavros's neck.

"Yeah, um, a little." Tavros smiled. "Thanks. Did I miss dinner?"

"MhM," Gamzee hummed, shifting so that he could prop himself up on his elbow and rest his chin on his palm, the hand once on Tavros's hip gliding up into his hair and playing around with a few thick strands of the Taurus's mohawk. "We CaN gO DoWnStAiRs AnD hEaT sOmE oF iT uP iF yA lIkE."

"Its alright, I'm not really hungry" Tavros admitted. "Besides, its nice just laying here with you"

Gamzee chuckled, liking that answer very much. He ran his fingers through Tavros's hair, massaging his scalp admiringly. After being silent for a while, he asked what was on his mind. "TaV? Do YoU lIkE mE?" He cleared his throat, clarifying. "I mEaN, yA kNoW, mOrE tHaN bRoS?" He was actually holding his breath after asking this, fearing the worst reaction. He really hoped that this hunch wasn't completely wrong and would freak Tavros out, ruining their friendship or putting an awkward gap between them.

"Gamzee, I like you very much more than bros." Tavros replied quietly. "Um, is that okay?"

"ThAs MoRe ThAn OkAy, BrOtHeR. ThAs FuCkInG wOnDeRfUl," Gamzee murmured in Tavros's ear, tilting his head so that it shadowed over Tavros's face and he could study his expression. He liked looking at Tav, something about him just settled his mind with all kinds of inner peace and his lazy smile steadily grew from one of the corners of his mouth into a delighted smirk. "So I gUeSs tHaT mAkEs TwO oF uS."

Tavros blushed slightly. "Um, alright. That's good"

Gamzee leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to Tavros's forehead, pulling back to smile some more at him. He wasn't sure if he could ever stop smiling, he felt so damn happy. Then he wanted to tell Tav something he had meant to say for a very long time, but had dropped the notion of ever openly admitting to him beyond the context of friendship. So he told him, because now seemed like the right time and he wondered what it sounded like outside of his head. "I lOvE yOu, TaV."

Tavros smiled so wide, it felt like his face would break in two. "I love you too Gamzee" he murmured shyly.

Gamzee kissed Tavros on the cheek, heaving a content sigh. "YoU sMeLl LiKe CaTs." He thought he was saying that like it was a compliment since one time in a movie there was a scene where a couple had confessed their love for one another and one of them stated what the other smelled like. Although apparently the girl smelled like tulips or roses or desert trumpets, whatever, but it seemed like stating what someone smelled like was considered a compliment or a way of moving a conversation along when one didn't know where to go from there.

Tavros snorted, and began to laugh. "I guess I do, I handled a lot of cats and kittens today" he stated happily.

"I'd BeLiEvE iT," Gamzee hummed with a grin, pressing another kiss on Tavros's cheek. "YoU sUrE yOu AiN't HuNgRy?"

"Not really" Tavros mumbled softly. "I had a big lunch today" he admitted

"YoU'lL lEt Me KnOw WhEn YoU'rE hUnGrY, oKaY?" Gamzee asked, nuzzling Tavros's neck.
