Josh lifted a hand from the back of the couch. "I've relocated in here" he called.

Dirk stayed on the porch. "Should I stay here?"

Kankri waved a hand at him. "Just follow me." He started towards the living room. "One Jake's friends is with me. I believe this is the one he always says is his best friend. Dirk Strider."

"He just moved several states to a place where he barely knows anyone or his way around, I would be too" Dirk admitted

Kankri rolled his eyes. "He's acting like a child. Jake always acts like a child. He made a huge scene last night at dinner, embarrassing his whole family. I'm surprised John hasn't broken up with him yet. He's clingy and emotionally draining. All signs of an abuser, by the way. I wouldn't be surprised if he's emotionally manipulative too. He's always crying about something and saying everyone is mean to him."

"Not everyone who's clingy or emotionally draining is abusive." Dirk pointed out. "My brother's boyfriend is extremely clingy, and when he has his night terrors he tends to get emotionally draining, but the guy came from a really bad foster home. I know Jake's dad used to beat on him before his mom left with him. People who have been abused have a tendency to latch on to people who they find safe"

Kankri stopped outside of the first doorway. He crossed his arms and hummed. "Your brother's boyfriend sounds just as bad as Jake. I'm concerned with how you try to justify their behavior." He pointed to the door. "This is his room. I'm done with with conversation." He started to walk away.

Jake sat up before standing up and walking over to Dirk. He sighed before wrapping his arms around the younger male. "Do you think I'm a shitty person?"
