Dick hissed as his nose cracked.

Jake was quietly crying as his lip still bled. Cat was purring as he rubbed himself against Jake's legs.

Jade was leaving Robert's house but when back in as soon as she saw the scene. "Uncle Robert, I think Grandpa might need your help."

Josh dropped dick into a heap and turned away as Robert stepped out onto the porch.

Jade patted her brother's back. "Get in your car, Jake. I'll be back in a minute." She turned to follow their Grandfather. Jake was silent as he got into his jeep. Cat mewed at him before slowing walking to the house.

Josh gave Jade his wallet. "I think your brother has his keys" he stated

Jake and Jade were only gone for an hour. Jade was holding Jake's hand, leading him into the house when they got home. The pair was quiet as they made their way to the den. Jade was smiling as she looked into the doorway. Bec was sleeping, curled around Josh's feet. Gala was in his lap, also sleeping. Cat was sitting to his left, watching tv with him.

"Grandpa, we're home."

Josh jerked fully awake with a start. "Cripes!" he grouched "Don't sneak up on an old man, you'll give me a heart attack!"

Jade giggled as she led Jake to the couch. "We didn't sneak. We were being respectful and not being loud, little hooligans. Jake needed stitches on his lips. He can only have liquids for the next two days. Were you napping?"

Jake nodded at him. "I'm restricted to liquids because of my teeth. Need to be careful when I talk. I bite my lips a lot." He was fidgeting with his hands in his lap. "I'm sorry I'm such a hassle. And that I cause so much trouble. And the I'm the embarrassment of the family. And the failure."
