Karkat blinked up at him in complete and utter confusion. He was still so tired that it wasn't really getting through to him, plus he didn't recognize the voice or face that was addressing him, leaving his sleep-addled brain to waste precious cognitive thought on that problem.

Karkat jerked his head away from Dave's hand, blinking a little more clarity into his eyes. He was frowning up at Dave now, it was definitely coming to him. The face was familiar. One he had definitely seen before.

It hit him who was holding him like a ton of bricks and he jerked himself right out of Dave's lap with a hiss, landing hard enough on the floor to knock the wind out of himself.

He clutched the robe around him tightly (where the fuck had his clothes even gone, had that sick bastard taken them? Was he getting some sick pleasure holding Karkat in his lap and petting him like some strange human lap-barkbeast?) and scoot back until he was pressed against the coffee table,

He noted how the troll clutched his robes close to his body, neverminding the glare directed at him. Glaring and shouting were the two things he expected to come from the troll, though his lack of yelling thus far was possibly the most startling of all. Maybe he was just currently rendered speechless? "You want some clothes? My brother said he left your bag in my room."

Karkat gave a jerky nod, not taking his eyes off Dave for a minute. He didn't trust him. He vaguely recalled the older strider picking him up and taking him to the apartment, but he didn't remember much past the soft talking and murmurs to him to take a nap once he picked him up to climb the stairs.
