Jo was humming as she brushed her hair. Robert would be there any minute to pick her up for their date. Jeff was next to her on the futon, playing on a game of Gran Turismo 4 on xbox live. She rolled her eyes when he twin yelled more curse words at the teenagers he was playing against.

Seb was on her other side, half huddled against the arm and cringing with every outburst.

Hal was on Jeff's other side, watching the game with rapt attention.

There was a firm knock at the door.

Jo had stood up before the knock. She looked over her shoulder to the futon. "I need to finish my makeup. One of you has to get the door."

"COME IN." Jeff was still staring intently at the tv.
