Then as soon as his pout had deepened, a grin replaced it, followed by excited wiggling. "I'm so glad to be home though. Like, holy shit, this has me hyper."

Bro hesitated noticeably before he tucked his face into the crook of Cal's neck. "Not while Dave's up and about" he mumbled. "Wouldn't want him to hear. Besides, I left the door open." Cal would know, he was too fucking smart not to know there was something going on already, and if he hadn't figured it out yet, it was only a matter of time.

Cal was actually very much unaware of Bro's reasoning behind acting this way. Though he could tell something was wrong. His eyes opened up and his smirk vanished, replaced by a confused expression. He sat up a little and looked down at him, a little concerned.
"Now normally I'd agree with you and just move on to the next topic of conversation, but...something's going on here. Something that's obviously wrong."

Bro just looked up at him guiltily. "Can we please talk about it later? I just, want to at least hold you one more night before you wind up hating me." He lifted a hand to cup Cal's cheek. "Please? I know I fucked up, and I promise I'll tell you, but tomorrow. Is that alright?"

Now he was even more confused. But his eyes softened in pity at how scared Bro looked. Scared and guilty. What had he done? As much as he wanted to know, he knew things would be better if he waited. Which is why he gently took Bro's hand, pressing kisses to the knuckles before entwining his fingers in his own. "I highly doubt whatever you did will make me hate you. But yes, I can wait till later."

Cal was perfectly content with their positioning, humming a little tune as he continued to comb his fingers through Bro's hair. Said tune happened to be a familiar one- one that Cal used to sing to put Dave to sleep when he was a baby.

It didn't take long of that treatment to put Bro on the verge of sleep. His grip on Cal loosened and his eyes drifted shut. It was warm and familiar and peaceful.

Morning came all too soon and Bro woke up still in Cal's arms. And honestly it hurt. It hurt because of what he was going to have to tell Cal, and it hurt most of all because he knew it was going to hurt him. He sighed, laying still as to not wake up.
