Jade was humming as she and Jake were heading to Red Robin. Rose had sent her text to let her know the other three were waiting for them and that they were aready at a table. "Ready to eat?"

"Shopping has helped me work up an appetite" Jake admitted. "Though I seemed to have bought more for you than for me"

"You didn't have to buy me anything. I was just commenting on what I thought was cute." She gave his hand a squeeze. "I hope you still like burgers and steak fries!"

Jade lead him into the restuarant. "They have the best food here!" She was grinning as she appraoched the large booth her friends were at. John and Rose were on a seat together and Dav was across from them. Rose smiled and waved at them.

John looked over and pointed them out to Dave.

"I'll take your word for it." Jake glanced up. "Is that them? Crimony, is that John?"

Dave looked up before quickly looking back down at his menu. Jade laughed loudly. "Yes, that would be John." She stopped when they got to the booth. "Mind sitting in the middle?"

"Not at all" Jake replied "So long as your friend doesn't mind. If he does I can sit in a chair on the end"

John grinned "Dad wasn't kidding when he said that you and I were practically twins. Nice to finally meet you Jake"

"Nice to meet you too, John"

Jake smiled as he slid into the seat next to him, his dog tags jingling slightly as they bumped across the table. "You must be Dave"

"That would be me." He closed his menu, leaning back in the booth. "I know what I want."

Rose had her hands folded in her lap. "Have you decided yet, John?"

Jake looked to Rose. "And you're Rose right?"

Dave slid his menu to Jake. "Whatever." Jade winked at them. "I'm just going to get my usual."

Dave silently shrugged. Rose took a sip of her water. "I normally get the garden burger. The all-american patty melt is quite good though. The bleu ribbon is also a good choice. My sister likes the chili chili burger but I have not tried it."

Jake hummed and skimmed the menu.

"Their Chicken sandwiches are pretty good too" John provided

Jade nodded to show she agreed. "I'm getting the California Chicken sandwhich."
Dave was keeping silent as he played with his straw wrapper. He glanced up at Jake then back at the table. Rose smiled as she watched him.

"What are you getting Dave?"
"Prime Chophouse." He kept his repy short as he glanced up at her.
Rose nodded at him. "My mother really likes that one. I know Jeff loves those as well."

Jade reached behind Jake to pet Dave's shoulder. "He's a bit shy around new people." She didn't add that it was only around people he liked or had an interest in. Rose reached over to pet his hand.

"How old are you Jake?"

"I'm twenty two, nearly twenty three." Jake replied with a small smile at her before looking back to his menu. "Alright I think I've decided" he closed his menu before turning to Dave. "There's no need to be shy, chap, I don't bite ya know. Though if I'm making you uncomfortable, my offer still stands to move and give you more room"

Dave shook his head. "It's cool." He was fiddling with straw wrapper again. Jade's hands were in her lap now. Rose nodded at Jake. "My sister is only a year younger than you."

"If I remember rightly, John's sister is only a year younger than me as well" Jake smiled at John.

"A year and a few months" John smiled.

The waittress approached before anyone could reply. "Are you folks ready to order?"

Jake smiled and placed his order, providing his ID when he ordered a beer. John ordered next, giving the waitress both his order and Dave's.

Dave moved a foot to wedge it between John's feet, trying to silently thank his best friend. Rose and Jade ordered after John. The waittress was smiling as she took their menus. "Your food will be out shortly."
