There are only a few instances when Slick is usually quiet. When he needs to be, anyway. And right now, the last thing he needed right now was Droog breathing down the back of his neck for being where he shouldn't have been. But what does Droog know? He had his own business, his own priorities. And that included going to the bathroom to patch up a few good wounds on his person.

He quietly closed the door, making his way towards the bathroom. He made sure to be especially careful when walking past Droog's door. He could only assume that he was asleep at this time of night. He had absolutely no clue why his right hand man was so against this. Why the fuck should he care? It had nothing to do with him.

He was going to go to bed in five minutes. Droog had first said that five hours ago. In that time he had read a book, balanced his cheekbook, balanced the Crew's joint checkbook, did his laundry, did Slick's laundry, and made sure all the bills were paid. Droog was not waiting for Slick. The tallest member of The Midnight Crew definetly was not waiting for the other man to return. It certainly didn't bother him that Slick had gone to Sn0wman again.

He finally made his way to the bathroom, switching the light on and setting his coat and hat aside. He stripped himself of his blood-soaked shirt, taking a look at the cut wounds on his sides, and one cigarette burn. Fuckin' sadistic bitch. He opened the cabinet and took out the first-aid kid, kicking the door shut with a slam.

Shit.

Droog sighed when he heard a slam from the bathroom. He had better go and make sure the slightly shorter man wads bleeding out or missing a limb. Sn0wman did not like him in any way. She only liked ripping him apart, litterally. Droog could not understand why Slick subjected himself to something so humiliating. He stood and stretched before leaving his room.

First the disinfectant, that always came first. He flushed out the wounds, biting on a towel to keep the curses down. Next was the antibacterial cream, then the gauze wrapped up in bandages. Not to shabby of a job. Droog's medical experience could suck a fat one. Sighing harshly, he picked up his coat and his hat after discarding his materials, his hand on the door before he froze.

Someone was out there.

Droog stood with his arms crossed outside of the bathroom. Slick was going to have to come out eventually. And Droog was going to rip him a new one when he finally did. Slick was their leader. He could not keep doing this. That dumb bitch wad going to end up killing him. Droog refused to let the other man keep doing this to himself. People needed that dumb asshole. He was going go finally put an end to Slick's bullshit.

What to do, what to do. He could just tone out Droog's scolding, but he didn't want to deal with that in the first place. Better to avoid that altogether. He could always fight his way to his room, but with his fresh injuries, he'd have to re-dress them. Another pain in the ass.

So he did the only logical thing he could think of.
There was a little click, and the door was locked.

Droog scowled when he heard a click. Now Slick was just being immature. He knocked on the bathroom door, trying to keep the volume down. No need to get Hearts or Deuce involved.

"Occupied." Slick said simply as if he was some decent man taking a piss in a public bathroom. Ain't no way in hell he was going to face Droog right now. All he wanted was some Tylenol and his bed.

"You're not doing anything in there Slick." He was trying to yell at the slightly shorter man. "Come out this instant. You can't avoid this forever."

"I can damn well do what I want. Who the hell are you to patronize me??" He hissed through the door, turning around to lean against it, arms crossed stubbornly.

[midnightVigilante]

"You're being a stubborn brat Slick." Droog started to tap his left foot. He was already loosing his pateince. It never seemed to last long when Slick was involved. "You're being completely immature. For once think about someone besides yourself."

"You of all people should know what kind of fuckin' world this is, Droog. Think only for yourself and you'll get to live another day. And why should you care?? You're my right-hand man and nothin' else." Slick's scowl grew deeper at this, refusing to open the door.

[midnightVigilante]

Droog rolled his eyes. "We need you Slick and you fucking know that." He banged on the bathroom door again. "I'm sick of this bullshit. She's going to kill you one of these days. I'm not sticking around for that. Either stop going to her or I'm gone."

"You act as if you and I have something." Slick mused with a roll of his eyes. "You seem to be fuckin' runnin' this place well enough whenever I'm gone, so why all the bitchin' all of a sudden?" He realized he wasn't going to get past this and just sighed. He opened the door and pushed past Droog, making his way towards his room.

Droog scowled at him. "It doesn't matter why Slick." He started to follow him. "Can you be any less considerate? You do nothing but treat the rest of us like shit. Give me one good reason why I shouldn't just walk out now and not return? Maybe then you'll step up." Droog stopped, watching him from a foot away.

"Where would you go?" Slick asked, looking back at him from his doorway. "You'd be havin' your demons follow you whereever you go, and you'll be vulnerable on your own. You've be putting us at a disadvantage, as well as yourself."

[midnightVigilante]

Droog shrugged. Slick being involved with Sn0wman shouldn't have bothered him so much. But it did. He didn't know why but it did. And he hated. "It doesn't matter. You don't seem to care about anyone but yourself nowadays anyway."

"I came back, didn't I?" He sneered at him. "If I really cared about myself, I never woulda made this goddamn Crew. Or I woulda stabbed you all dead long ago. You're a little too oblivious here, Droog. And I suggest you wise up." With that, he slammed the door shut.

Droog was scowling again as he went back to his room. He slammed his door shut as well, not caring anymore if it woke anyone. Slick was getting on his last nerves. He was going to leave. He was really going to leave this time. He refused to stay around to see the day that dumb bitch killed the leader of The Midnight Crew.

Slick stripped himself out of his clothes right down to his boxers. He'd deal with this shit later. Letting out another sigh, he popped open his bottle of painkillers, downing three of them before flopping down on his bed with a grunt.

Droog laid down on his bed, not bothering to pull the covers back. He was looking out for his own interests. Really, he was. Slick was a business partner and that's all. The other man would never be anything more than that. And he was of no good use to Droog if he was dead.

"I'm not jealous of that cunt." The second tallest member of the Midnight Crew kept repeating that in his head. He started to frown and crossed his arms. He was glaring at his ceiling now. He hated Sn0wman because she was a huge bitch and nuisance. Yeah that was definitely it.

Sleep was a priority. Sleep induced healing and provided escape. He could just sleep away his troubles, at least temporarily. He knew he'd be sore in the morning, but hey, he asked for it. But why did he ask for it, exactly? All he got was abuse, though he supposed that was the point. It was the only form of attention he got that was constant, and semi- unrelated to work.

...Goddamn it pills, kick in already. He didn't want to think about this before dozing off.

Droog huffed and rolled onto his side. He wasn't going to be getting any sleep tonight. Tomorrow he had to do recon. Watching Doze for fuck's sake. Why the second member of The Felt he had no idea. He never did anything useful anyway. If Droog didn't sleep tonight than it was guranteed he'd fall asleep during this bullshit mission. Slick would never let him live it down.

Seconds ticked by into minutes, minutes into hours, and Slick was still awake. At least the pain was dulled quite a bit from the pills, but he still couldn't sleep. That and his mouth was dry. Grumbling, he got up with a wince before heading out of his room, not even bothering to stop the door from lightly slamming, and headed to the kitchen to go and get a glass of water.
