Daycare Dating

Jake was in the kitchen, holding a saucepan in one hand and a wooden spoon in the other as he stirred tonight's dinner while looking over at the laptop screen to make sure he was following the directions correctly. It was a new recipe, hopefully Jade would approve of it, though she wasn't really a picky eater.

Speaking of Jade, she was probably awake from her nap, though he had yet to hear a peep from her. If she wasn't up, Jake would need to wake her soon, otherwise she wouldn't sleep the rest of the night and on top of her sleeping away her first day at her new daycare, that would mean Jake would be tired at work.

Jade was yawning and rubbing at her eyes with one tiny fist. Her other hand was holding onto Beck's scruff as she rode into the kitchen on his back. The dog trotted to his larger Alpha to sit at his side. Jade smiled up at him. "Morning!"

Jake chuckled, leaning the spoon on the side of the pan and crouching to scoop Jade up before she slipped off Bec's back. "Evening" he corrected with a smile. "Didja have a nice little kip?" he asked, balancing her on a hip as he set the saucepan down and turned off the stove.

Jade was giggling as she wrapped her arms around Jake's neck. "Yes!" She kissed his cheek. "We smell something yummy! Beccy brought me down to find the yummy."

"I made some curry with rice" Jake informed her, tapping her nose with a little 'boop' noise. "I'm just waiting on the rice cooker, then we can have supper." He stepped over Bec to check the cooker, before using the hand that wasn't holding Jade to reach up and get some plates. "And if you eat all your supper, I have a nice treat for you"

Jade giggled and clapped herchands when Jake hooped her nose. She laid her head on his shoulder, yawning. "A yummy treat?"

"A yummy, cold treat if you're lucky" Jake grinned. "With some milk to help you sleep" The rice cooker buzzed and he pressed the button to open it so it wouldn't over cook. "we can even play our game!"

Jade perked up again, eagerly clapping her hands. "Goat milk with dinner?"

"You can have some goat milk with dinner if you'd like it, but I got some other kind of milk too" Jake chuckled, bouncing her slightly on his hip. "But I got you one of those little ice cream cups if you can eat all your supper." He got some soup bowls from the cabinet and set them next to the rice cooker so he could dish out their dinner. Jade's portion was significantly smaller than his own.

Jade giggled and sqeed at the bouncing. She started to pet Jake's cheek. "What kind of ice cream?"

"Its a surprise" Jake grinned. "One I know you'll like"

Jade giggled and patted her grandfather's cheek. "Best grandpa!"

Jake chuckled and rubbed his stubble against Jade's hand. "Best granddaughter"

Jade squeeled and giggled. "That tickles!"

"You don't like my whisker kisses?" Jake chuckled, pulling her closer so he could rub his face, and his whiskers, against her cheek.

Jade was squeeing loudly and clapped her hands. "LOVE WHISKER KISSES." She eagerly rubbed her face against Jake's. Bec whined, laying down and placing a paw over one of his ears.

"Ready for supper?" Jake asked, finally pulling away. "I think we're hurting Bec's ears with our noises."

"Ready!" Jade tried to reach down to pet Bed's head. He stood back up to lick her hand.

Jake took her over to her chair and sat her on her phone books. He put some curry on her rice and set her plate in front of her before fixing his own plate and pouring them both some milk. He sat across from her with a smile. "Alright, dig in!"

Jade had started eating as soon as her bowl was placed in front. Curry sauce was already on her cheek and chin.

Jake smiled at her before turning to his own food. He ate it a little neater, but still managed to get it on his face.

Jade was grinning as she finished. Bec had moved to lay under her chair. "More please."

Jake chuckled as he left his plate and got up to get Jade more.

Jade was reaching down to pet Bec again while she waited for more food. Bec stood up to lick at her hand.

Jake brought her plate back with a second serving on it. "Make sure to leave room for dessert" he warned.
